jason1968 Posted October 10, 2015 Share Posted October 10, 2015 Hi I have a mates matador in for repair and the brakes are terrible when you depress the brake pedal it takes forever for them to take effect I had this problem years ago but cannot remember the fix Anybody got any ideas please? Gordon_M Posted October 10, 2015 Share Posted October 10, 2015 All I remember is that the brake pedal setup contains a poppet valve or check valve of some kind, and this is prone to get dirty and fail to seal, giving long air rebuild time and constant leak down of the air system. Grasshopper Posted October 12, 2015 Share Posted October 12, 2015 From memory (I had 2x Matadors about 12 years ago), I think there are couple of wire-gauze filters in the brake pedal valve which tend to get gunged and rusted up over time.
