Hangar 53
Earlier this year, we sold one of our RB44's after taking it to the War & Peace show. We had converted it from a GS spec truck, to a comms bodied camper, fittted with twin hobs, sink, bed, fridge etc. We spent 6 months working weekends, to restore it to it's original 32 RA BTY condition, and it featured in the classified section here for a while. We are now under way with building the second overland RB, and having cut our teeth with regards the fitting out of the first one, we're going to town on this one. We are moving away from the military colour scheme, by choosing white as the finished colour, although it would still pass as a UN vehicle, so not completely removed from its military past. We decided on a tough industrial finish, using the U-pol Raptor bed liner as a final coat, as it is impervious to staining, scratching, or chipping. Having stripped the cab out to address any rust issues, and prepare for a colour change, we've just finished re-assembly of the cab, and are going to move on to the roof platform, and solar array, before continuing with the rest of the truck. We will of course be offering the RB for sale upon completion, so if anyone is interested in her, please feel free to follow the build progress on our RB group page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/338948212952918/ The album of the restoration and build can be found here on our workshop page as well: For those that would rather follow the build here, I will try and update as often as possible.
