simon king
Just as a matter of interest, have any of the inflatable decoys - such as the Shermans and Bedford MWs often seen in photos - survived. I guess it's pretty unlikely given the perishable fabric from which they were made, but I suppose it is possible, even if they are too fragile to be inflated. rnixartillery
I remember a friend of mine having an inflatable 15 cwt truck and it was bonneted ,he use to inflate it now and then on the village green. It was two piece, the cab and the body but you needed to put a box or something underneath to support it. Quite impressive when you took time to see how it was made. I also have photo's of inflatable Artillery being set up. Rob......................rnixartillery.

Tony B
Classic story. Urgent panicked phone call from Seargent in charge of a dummy site 'Sir, Please send some air cover! Thier destroying my best decoys!'
simon king
thanks Rob - that's interesting. Nice to know that something survived Judging from the uniforms that inflatable 25pdr must be post-war.
