tech II
Hello all I was wondering if anyone knows what fluid i should use for my steering gear on my Mk 5 Saracen???? I just finished putting the hydraulic system back together today and now going through complete fluid services, the trans had gear oil in it like some kind of 90w. I did find some info on the net about some fluid ref, at http://www.fv432.com/oil.htm. I'm going to fill the trans and gear box with sae 30w, I was told to run 15w-40 for engine oil in the b80 engine is this okay or should I run 30w in there as well?? Thanks for your input have a great weekend. DENVER.
andyroo
Hi, I put EP90 in my steering gear, still works and should not do any harm. The Gear box has the same oil as the engine, SAE30. All the bevel boxes, outer reduction hubs and transfere box have EP90. Check the oil in your hydrolic pump/air compresser whail your at it, its easly forgoten about. That takes engine oil as well.
