How long do DVLA take to register a motor?

Come on then folks how long did DVLA take to first register your vehicles?

 

My Landy seems to be taking forever but they have only had the paperwork back for 7 working days and not even cashed the cheque yet (Not too concerned about that Wifey works for the NHS and they only send theirs off once a month!)

 

Just want to get driving it now being teh impatient bugger I am

I went along to the DVLA in person to get my REO registered and got the disc there and then, had to make sure I had the right paperwork (I didn't first time)

I did one over Xmas and it came back in 5 working days.

 

I've got another that they are arguing over the dating letter but they are replying quite promptly even if not very helpfully.

 

I'd give them a couple of weeks before worrying!

I will leave it until next week then before I start bugging them eh!

 

I had heard back in days when they didn't want to register it the first time so no news is good news I suppose.

I've just sent some paperwork off today for a Land Rover first registration. Will let you know when I get it back. They do state it may take 28 days from memory.

I have my V5 now. So it has taken 7 days, including weekends! Quite quick.

Saying that, I had an MOT on VIN number and it was insured etc and ready for taxing.

 

Unfortunately my attempted bribe "I'll buy the office lunch" didn't work for getting a more personal plate from my list of numbers haha

LOL superb Mine had mot and vin as well but took two and a half weeks so not too bad really and the Landy is now sporting its new plates

During my time as verification officer for the MVT the DVLA seemed fairly prompt

This does of course assume that all documentation is in order
