Catch 22 LBDR
Hi, Can anyone help me ID this draw bar. It is on my Mk3 Morris Quad FAT that I am restoring. As you can see it's a "drop down " location for the hitch to be much lower than it's original position. What I can't find out, is this a Military mod for a different gun or a civilian mod done by the Farmer (previous owner now deceased) for towing farm equipment. Has anyone ever come across anything like this before?
Ivor Ramsden
It looks like the original mountings for the rear hitch spring have been modified to give it a lower height. This is from the handbook:

This is from the handbook: I tend to agree, having been around a few of the type (and having old MV's on the farm growing up...with MANY mods), this drop down is likely a modification Cheers Nick
Catch 22 LBDR
So do you guys think it is a civilian mod and not an Army mod then? I have to admit it doesn't look very strong.

If it was a military mod I think we'd have seen it on other C8 FATs.
