NAAFI
An interesting read about this county which was pivotal to the build up to and preparations for D-Day. Some great photographs most of which have never been published before and some fascinating interviews which bring much colour to the life and times of that Home Front era. With a great chapter on the work of the WVS and stories of the RAF, the Americans, those who built the Mulberry and the airfields, the civilians and the military, there is soemthing here for everyone. The joys, the sadness, the hard work and rewards are well documented. From the months before the outbreak of war to the peace in 1945, this book takes the reader on a thought provoking journey.
