WW2 British Prisoner Of War Shirt?

It's Indian-made on account of the markings and buttons, though definitely WW2.......years ago there were a few of these around, plus trousers too.......

Theories are that they were either work clothing or for POW's, but on account of the black-inset patch I would be inclined to go for the latter......

I thought Indian straight away due to the ink stamp and have been told this off a different forum--

ww2 Italian prisoners of war , black diamond signified a supporter of musilini and therefore a political prisoner, ordinary Italian prisioners in belfast wore grey shirts but political ones wore the diamond on the back
