deadline
My set of CCKW canvas doors has a stencil on them. Can anyone verify if either wartime factory supplied or Army replacement doors had any stencils on them? A photo would be great, or even just the text to compare with what's on the set I have. Gordon_M
Standard practice to stencil them with SNL code, part number, and manufacturer, nearly always on the inside faces. The format was just the line from the Master Parts List for the item, plus manufacturer. Size varied from 1/2" to 1" depending on the size of canvas and the amount of info. Ordnance procurement usually had the Ordnance flaming bomb. I'd expect the major canvas suppliers to be able to do it, or supply the info for you to do it. Pete Ashby
Agree with Gordon, my GMC had a full set of NoS canvas and each piece was stenciled with the part number in a very dark purple black ink 1" high Pete
deadline
I can make screens, but the doors I have are so faded I could not make out the numbers/words. Thanks to all!
