WTK Mustard Gas at Bramley

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm looking for information regarding the Mustard Gas and Ammo found at Bramley, can anyone point me in the right direction ???

I remember the Mustard Gas shells being found, as it closed the main A33 when the shells were being moved. Suggest the Basingstoke Gazette for details. The shells were found when Bramley Ammunition depot was being decommisioned. I believe the Gas Shells were WW1 vintage and were buried after the war to get rid of them.

Bomb disposal guys?

"was appointed MBE for (his family guessed) his work in disposing of a dangerous cache of First World War mustard gas found at Bramley, the old Army School of Ammunition near Basingstoke"

As to whether any would comment, as it may be covered by the OSA?
