Enfield1940
Hi, I've acquired a P68 smock hood with a slider attached to the drawstrings - something I've not seen before. Is this likely to be factory fitted, or personal customisation? The slider is made by 'STOCKO', who I believe are German. Cheers, Mark
wdbikemad
Probably fitted by an enterprising squaddie in BAOR....! Not "standard" on 68 hoods........ The British started using this type of fastener during the early 1970's for some nylon webbing (72 pattern packs, etc) and by the mid 70s on windproof smocks, some RN garments, etc.......but they were invariably the Swedish "FixLock" brand in white, grey, black or green......:-D
Eaglehurst
Agree with Steve - certain this is an aftermarket adaptation!
