Graham
I have recently bought a Mills rifle grenade No.36 complete with the base plate ready to be fired from a No.1 discharger. It raises a few questions: was the 'safety pin' an ordinary split pin used for many other non military uses or a special pin, and was the 'safety pin ring' the same as an ordinary split 'key ring'? Finally anybody got a comment on the legality of making a 'No.1 Discharger' for fitting on to a deactivated SMLE Mk.III*?
Enfield1940
I'm not sure about the pins, but if you're looking for one DugUp do good repros: http://www.dugup.co.uk/ware13/wh13_page_2.htm AFAIK a repro cup discharger would be legal if it is built from new and non-functional. Graham
Thank you for the link - a very interesting and useful site. I now realise that although my grenade is genuine WW1 (probably) the striker is more modern (?). Thanks again.
