unionjack
It's about 6 foot long, a bit less than 2 foot wide at the bottom widening to over 2 feet at the top. It's a bag format, open across the top, with 6 lots of external tie tapes. Made from the same khaki wool flannel as wartime shirts. Itchy sleeping bag liner? Bob Podesta
That wierd thing is an old british army sleeping bag inner, I have a cuple of them still. They were the sleeping bags issued before we had the green maggots Bob
unionjack
Ok, it pre-dates the 1958 pattern bag. So what bag did it go in? I thought it must be a liner with it having external ties. Any idea when they were introduced etc?
Scotch Harry
Up until the 58 Patt sleeping bag i dont think there was a sleeping bag-you gad to make do with a Greatcoat and if you were lucky a woolen blanket.

Well that's what I thought, although camo bags did exist during the war, and I would have expected bags to be more widespread by Korea at least. As for the label, i have another with no such label, and they both seem to be standard wool shirt fabric.
