LoggyDriver
Watch this series of short films on You Tube for some very nice Military porn in action. Part 5 is fantastic. A testiment to the quality of the trucks involved is at the end of the film. Brilliant. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=bowmore+boiler+&oq=bowmore+boiler+&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&gs_sm=s&gs_upl=23700l24160l0l26374l4l4l0l0l0l1l162l575l0.4l4l0 Edited December 3, 2011 by LoggyDriver
Roof Over Britain
All good stuff. Can you imagine the red tape and health & safety issues if that was tried today!

Yeah, I'm sure the Elf and Safety brigade would have something to say about guys up to their necks in water...
cosrec
really enjoyed that video thats the sort of H&S i was brought up with along with a get the job done attitude. Alas the modern sue culture and lack of common sense has put all the that sort of adventure and "jobs got to be done" has gone. Replaced by method statements red tape and loads of paid H%S officials with no concept of real life. As a little aside to this we oftence get called in to to recoveries at power stations large factories etc and we often have to spend 2 days doing paperwork submiting certificates putting drivers through indutions before we start say recovering an overturned trailor or a stuck excavator. So we now write in a proviso once our recovery manager named on method statment says all non essential personal must leave the scene due to H&S reasons it works every time. Gets rid of those annoying jerks

utt61
Fascinating film, a really good find. Thanks for posting! Nice to see the ubiquitous Trewhella Monkey Winch in use too. I bet a modern truck couldn't be started after being submerged in sea water to that level as easily.

Can you imagine what the electrics on a modern Scannie or Volvo would be like, The ECUs would have given up at the first smell of the sea air!
