antarmike
Must also depend on its rated towed load. All I have found is it weights 3050kg empty 5250kg loaded and can tow a further 2250kg giving a total train weight of 7500kg Can anyone confirm these figures. Does the RB44 have air braking connections? Without these it cannot legally tow such a trailer.

My RB44 does not have air brake connections but that doesn't mean that the army didn't modify some of them.
antarmike
My RB44 does not have air brake connections but that doesn't mean that the army didn't modify some of them. I thought the RB was designed to tow the 105mm, that's why I doubted they would have air braking connections. If this is so, towing a 4 wheeled office is a no-no, since there will be no trailer braking facility whatsoever.. ZaceryMilligan
Would you want to tow anything with a RB44, especially an earlier model. Hope that doesn't offend Ferrettkitt

As a vehicle they seem o.k. to me they do a job maybe not the job the army wanted them for but as a run around and straight load carrier they seem fit for purpose. I have had mine fully loaded with flags the old fashioned thick concrete ones that the council wont relay (H&S) it carried those without any trouble. Plus the missus can drive the RB she can't drive the Ferret legs to short and I'm not putting blocks of wood on the peddles.
