I once took a 7.5 merc through france on a bank holiday. Owt over 7.5 isnt allowed on the roads on a bank holiday. I got pulled over by the Gendarmes. They wanted all sorts of paper work. Had insurance, V5, plates on the vehicle and chassis number. Got sick of them chunter on about something so did the Gallic shrugg of shoulders cant be bothered attitude. It worked and I was on my way!!
