robin craig
speak to Andrew Baker at AFV Society, believe he did it nearly from scratch. Major welding required. R
Grasshopper
It will require parts to be manufactured that are not currently available, plus significant internal gearbox modifications. Something like 200 different parts, including bulkheads, deck, radiator required. I believe that only BATUS Scorpions (if any remain) are dieselized. It's not really a feasible modification at the moment. If you do want to dieselize, a Cummins 4B can be programmed with the same power and torque specifications as the J60, so would not require the gearbox to be modified. sirhc
This would be a major project. Not only is the gearbox highly modified, but the fan, dash, bulkhead, top deck, louvres, exhaust, air intake etc are all different and that's before you look at the fuel system. For sure it can be done, someone else besides Andrew Baker has done it. You won't believe how expensive the bits are.
