trailerpirate Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 hey i bought a bedford mj 4x4 from 1986 now there is a little mystery i need solved when i drive it starts to leak a little diesel on the right side first i thought it was the water seperator so i bought a brand new one and installed it i made a test drive around the terrain at first everything seemed good but then again half way the test round it started leaking i really cant figure out where it could come from i have the repair instructions but ofcourse it doesnt cover the fuel system so any idears please let me know greets sabine Quote
robin craig Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 The mechanical lift pump is on the right side of the engine block. Dependant on where your vehicle came from you might find that the sediment bowl / water trap has become loose or the fittings associated with it. Beware the brass screen inside should you remove the lift pump assembly from the engine block. R Quote

trailerpirate Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 hey the fuel is leaking into the carteroil and i think because the carter was so full it started leaking out of the oil dipstick the rubber is broken and i emtied the carter and came out 15 liters oil mixed with alot of diesel i took out the pump but it seems quite good but i will have someone take a look at it with more knowledge i dont know abit lost greets Quote
