Jessie The Jeep
We had a vehicle rally at the Durham Light Infantry Museum today, and Lynne had been told to prepare her hair so that one of the other girls could do it 40's style while she was there. Her hair is normally VERY straight and thin, so styling has always been a problem. I know I'm just a guy, but I'll try my best to describe how it all went. It started on Saturday evening by washing her hair and then using setting lotion on it. While still wet she took small bundles of hair about a pencil width, and roll it up around a strip of cloth about 1 1/2 inches wide by 8 inches long. When the whole length was wrapped, the cloth was tied in a knot to hold it. Once her whole head was done ( 1 hour later ) a hair net went on for the night. Saturday Night http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b304/vultee35/Re-enactors/dli/a.jpg[/img] The next day, she had to turn up for the event with the cloth strips still in place. After that, Julie started rolling Lynne's hair up at the sides and back and then used hair grips to pin it in place. That bit looked quite technical to me. The pics below will probably make sense to you girlies reading. Mrs Hardyferret
Well done to Lynne I think that is over and above the call of duty. It all very well having you hair done on a special day but when the preparations have to start at least 12 hours before hand!! The end result looked very good. I too had long straight and not very thick hair - I was born that way but my mother had ordered a little girl with curly hair. Not a problem to my mother she just used to put me to bed with those awful spiky plastic rollers in my hair and in the morning - Hey presto - Young girl (7-8 years old) with sore head and bent hair. Run the comb through it and instantly straight again!!! To compound matters my aunt was a hairdresser so it was soon decided that my mothers little cherub should have a twink (showing my age here) perm. This could account for the way I am today. :? Enigma
I am a Metalfan and used to have very long hair but cut it because I was getting bald. I once braided my hair like Carribeans do, it hurt like hell and felt like a evil facelift. :banghead: Morale of the story, looking good hurts so I'll accept being a little bit less ravishly handsome.. :naughty:
