mvdepot Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Well finally got the Sherman gearbox into the workshop ! as you can see the main drive flange and gear selector shafts have been gas axed off : ( so if anyone has any of these items in there draw under the bed please let me know!.I have not worked on the Sherman gearbox before so im just taking it very slowly with lots of pics etc etc if anyone out there has any advice please dont be shy.cheers Quote

They were supplied as a matched pair though I do not think it is a big problem if you fit another one from a different gearbox. It is just that a NOS gearbox does not come with a pinion (the small gear). Quote
supertrack Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Ok i understand , and understand why . Normally, these parts must be properly adjusted . That why the small pinion is not with the gear . You have to take the old one or change all parts in the power train ! Quote
