I spotted this at Hack Green Bunker and wondered if any of you can identify it?

A later version of a Tett turret/ Allan Williams turret, or maybe a MOD Dalek! I'm buggered if i know :???

I wonder if it was a prototype? Seems like a lot of effort for a Sunday afternoon knock up.

It is/was a Ferret turret. I think it's probably just something someone knocked up when they had nothing better to do.

 

I think this was from some official trial or prototype, because the red triangle plates would appear to denote "Unarmoured", I have seen these on trials AFV's before.

I didn't know about the triangle denoting "Trial". Thanks for that Richard. The Brit's have been doing everything from small turrets to large artillery ( http://www.palmerstonforts.org.uk/moncrieff/large/Moncrieff.pdf ) emplacements for centuries. Anything to keep the crew safe-ish and the guns firing. I do like my gadgets!
