I wonder if maybe we are missing the point Mark was trying to make here - Leaving aside the logistics , the possibility of sabotage , the willingness or otherwise of the troops . I believe the question - pure and simple is - Was the machinery built & used by the Germans and their allies better designed & mechanically superior ?
Thank you I am glad that someone could put into proper england that I could not :-D

I heard a rumour the other day that an MVT Area was about to make a large donation to the HMVF NVA appeal, I think the MVT Com. were due to discuss it at their November meeting, any of the Area Secretaries or anyone else on here know anything about it ?
.
What do you call large Ian :???

OK one says fuel and onother says logistics, but what if they had both of these in place, would they have succeded in what they were doing ?
-
Nice map..................where from you get that ??

Ever since I was a kid building Airfix models, I always had a tendency towards the German kit, always thought it was better quality, build and looking, but was it the same in real life in those times, I believe it was and still do I think the machines gave off a sense of quality, a build that was meant to carry out what the designers set out in their objective/scope.
This is the real humdinger.......if the allies did not have the overpowering mass of equipment, would they have overcome the superior stuff that they were facing.
Opinions please gentleman and ladies

Hi Guys
A couple of questions about the lightweight that you could probably answer.
1. The heater box gets hot and the fan you can hear going but nothing comes out the hoses to the screen, before I start stripping it down is there an easy solution to this ?
2. The speedo does not work until it gets to 40 mph I have been told that there is a plastic gear that normally goes and can be replaced, if this is correct can they be bought ?
Many thanks in anticipation. :-D

Is mine an S3 lightweight (1980) ?
-
Mark,
Have not got a stamp for a postcard, so will write it here.............doubtful if there is any Metric threads on your Lightweight, unless someone has put some rogue bolts in it. From new they were mostly UNF, with some BSF mainly on the axles.........and possibly gearbox
Many thanks Richard I have loads of them handy.

OK another quick question, are Landrovers (being British) UNC, UNF, Whitworth or Metric threads etc, some confusion in the household.
Answers on a postcard please.
Is it worth.................
in I may be stupid, but......

If you dont have a 24v then I assume you have to charge each battery independently, (not being thick just confirming)
