  1. Ok people I have some good news, the Military Mayhem show or MM as some are saying is confirmed for next year, the dates to put in your diaries are the 22nd and 23rd August 2009, this is the weekend before the bank holiday.

All those that attended this year are of course invited back and to those that did not attend we would love to see you.

  2. As previously mentioned by the Heliops chap.A move to the bank holiday weekend would be a good idea.It would be of benefit to all those that have been snubbed by the organisers of M.O.What done it for me,was the relaxed atomosphere, and none of that health and safety b****cks, that has ruined many a good show.i can see great potential here.

Thank you very much I will pass that on.

  3. Bit worried about these prize winners, tell me if i am wrong but i dont recognise the camo on the ambulance, and is that an Austin Gypsy, not ex military.i have only seen one genuine x mil gypsy with glass lenses etc, they were not taken into service.Did you see any Richard.not a good start.:nono:Yes Tony i know you like them ,but yours wasnt x mil either.Dissapointed from London.

Catweazle let me answer this one for you, the voting for the show winners was not done by any of the team/organisers it was done by a gentleman of whom has a lot of knowledge of MV's and no knowledge of this forum or it's members, unfortunately due to the turnout of vehicles the ones judged to be the best happened to be some belonging to HMVF members, now take this as we on here have so many members that in future it will be impossible for one of us not to win a prize somewhere.

I hope that answers your suggestion.

  4. Seeing those prices make you realise a lot of shows are getting very greddy.

I am sorry you feel like that Tony and I will take that as a personal remark against myself and my colleagues, I can assure you that we at Military Mayhem are not greedy otherwise we would not be raising money for the Royal British Legion, it does cost a lot to put on these these shows but i will not explain these to you on an open forum, but please bear in mind that the price of the ticket also gives everyone FREE entry into Farming World as well.

What value for money I say. :-D

  5. I've done my usual cock-up on dates - thought it was this weekend. Doh!!! :embarrassed: :embarrassed:

Should be able to make it down on Sat 30th for the day - no vehicle though as the OT's and Stalwarts plights are known and the Landie has no MOT.

Whats the entry fees for non exhibitors Mark???

It is £7.00 for adults and I think £4 or £5 for kiddies under 16 (dont quote me on that one) will be nice to see you

  6. Just found this;

    Supermarket sparks fuel price war

A supermarket has signalled the start of another round in the fuel price war when it cut 2p off the price of a litre of diesel and unleaded.

Britain's fourth-biggest supermarket, Morrisons, announced the reduction, which came into effect at 6am on Monday and makes the national average at its 285 forecourts 109.9p per litre for unleaded and 121.2p for diesel.

The move follows a round of cuts last month that saw Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's as well as Morrisons lowering prices at the pumps.

Oil prices have dipped nearly 30 US dollars a barrel in the past month amid mounting concern that slower economic growth is reducing global demand.

The supermarket's move comes days after a survey revealed British motorists are forking out far more for their fuel than drivers in the major European vehicle-owning countries, a survey shows.

When Britons were paying around 119p a litre for petrol last month, Spanish drivers were being charged only 96p, the survey found. Petrol and diesel was also cheaper in Germany, France and Italy, with diesel in Spain at £1 a litre compared with 133p a litre in the UK.

A Morrisons spokesman said the retailer's latest move meant it had cut 10p a litre off its diesel prices in the last 20 days, and 8p a litre off the price of unleaded on its forecourts in the same period. It estimates customers will be paying up to £5 less for a full tank of fuel than they were just three weeks ago.

Phil Maud, petrol director at Morrisons, said: "Monday morning will seem a good bit brighter for drivers today with yet more welcome news from Morrisons.

"We've proved it over and over again. When the price of crude and refined product falls, our customers are the first to see the price at the pumps fall as well, with no catches.

"This is another simple price-crunching reduction and shows yet again that we're committed to delivering real value for all our customers - whether they're filling up at our forecourts or shopping in our stores."
