  1. Can recommend the Victory show at Leicester, one of my favourite last year, a good mix of stalls, recall alot were selling clothes for reenactors, think there were about 2 aisles & guessing about 80 in total, but not that many in relation to the number of visitors. And not many selling tents/stoves.
  2. at first glance I thought it was some sort of phallic symbol!
  3. Have to admit I didn't take pic but that roundabout is now a well known roundabout & a large number of people from the area are familiar with spittys. when people ask for directions and reply its straight over Spitfire island or left etc. its far more memorable than straight over the first bland roundabout...
  4. How about Spitfire Roundabout, Chester Road Birmingham? As a memorial to the 11,780 Spitfires built nearby stands at what used to be the entrance to Castle Bromwich aerodrome. Designed by Tim, nephew of J R R, Tolkien, it was unveiled former test pilot Alex Henshaw in November 2000.
  5. For a little more info on this there is a quite a good write up in a 3 page article (p54-56) in June's issue of Military Machines International, this was for our earlier show at Easter.

  7. Yes, Happy Birthday to the Big CAT, cheers Paul
  8. With it being closed to the public it does make it more relaxed as you don't get people trying to climb over your vehicles & don't have to worry about items going missing. + the field is about 35acres so plenty of room to camp & to play with vehicles. Just a small sociable event.

WHAT THE PAPERS SAY “made you wonder if you were in Normandy, or the wooded hilly lanes of the Ardennes. The scenery was mag-nificent, making this the best road run that I have ever experienced in the U.K. We are all looking forward to a re-run Bob. On our return from the road run we were all treated to a barbeque, all pro-vided by Bob and cooked I believe, by Gill King. After consum-ing copious amounts of this food we were then entertained by Bob’s three friends who made up the mortar team. They attempted to shell one of Bob’s Dodge trucks, they came very close but never quite hit it (Pyrotechnics) we all know that a Dodge is inde-structible anyway. After the display everyone gravitated to the Nissen hut with its fire, comfortable chairs and wartime memora-bilia. I think that I might try to book the Nissen hut for my next annual holiday. Fantastic Mr James. your hospitality is second to none, and your site set-up leaves us begging for more thanks a million from each and every one of us.” Ray Wilcox, North Staffs MVT/Windscreen WW2 VETERAN SUNDAY EVENING A presentation by Major Darek Celinski recently awarded the Officer’s Cross, Order of Resurrected Poland, for his outstanding bravery during the Nazi Reign of Terror in Poland during the Second World War. 11. or how about this military body for sale on ebay? as its near the size you are looking for http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ex-military-box-body-field-office-secure-container_W0QQitemZ320256011336QQihZ011QQcategoryZ122309QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  12. Posted on behalf of another MV owner looking for storage for two vehicles, preferably undercover near Bristol/South Glos. areas If you can help please call Phil on 07970 674620
  13. The one you can download for free is the top one in solid black, look to the right & click on the box "Download PC / Mac OS X". Hope thats ok. Also stencils on ebay if you search for army stencil, but not cheap.
  14. The performance/artist groups involved in this project are having some activity days in July on the 5th & 26th & have asked for a few vehicles pref. WW2 to help create a period scene/atmosphere, so if anyone is local & would like to bring their vehicle along then please give me a ring to discuss further. The approach to the yard is not the best but quite smart once in as this is the town's new cultural & arts quarter. Might be suitable for those who want to bring their other half along for some retail therapy in town which is only a short walk. And yes to make it worthwhile we can tap into their funding. Paul 0779 159 1528
  15. thought A bar ok so long as you have a complicated & expensive braking system to activate brakes on Jeep
  16. This link for the National Trailer & Towing Association is also worth a look at: http://www.ntta.co.uk/law/index.htm I recently spoke with an MV owner who also works for the AA & he said if your vehicle is MOT exempt you shouldn't be towing anything! Anyone know if that is correct? if so that would impact on many here.
  17. Hope you are only letting military helicopters in, that Huey would be nice!
  18. pretty well hidden that one, was that also near an airfield? if so where?
  19. Hello Tim, thanks for all your recent post & pics I do enjoy browsing through. Its all very well being able to restore these pre WW2 vehicle, but Baddy says what about the brakes on your daughters bike? hehehe Paul
  20. interesting to see with generator, intend to visit that Fort in summer as have friends I can stay with nearby on the coast so that will make the trip more worthwhile, thanks.
  21. Does seem funny that we've dug this thing up only to bury it again! But good that people will be able to visit & walk through, as most are inaccessible on private land. Been over this evening & Bob has been busy moving a few more tons of earth only to be stopped by one of the tracks coming off, so thats another job for tomorrow.
  22. Please can you also post pic of your boat as there might be a floaty section here one day!
  23. Hello, welcome back & best of luck with re-locating. Whats the link with Lego as they are Danish? Paul
  24. have you considered making your own? Search for fonts, army, cargo or stencil like this link here http://www.dafont.com/army.font download for free, install then print to required size, cut out with stanley knife then use a small sponge to dab on.
  25. Hello Neil, This is located on Bob Jame's place at Badsey nr Evesham, Worcs, & is also the clubhouse for the South Midlands MVT where we have three shows with the next two in August. And you might be interested to know that one of our members has a vehicle similar to your OT-90, he has the Russian BMP1 but it needs an engine.
