  1. I'm pretty sure the basic ingredient that makes it EP is ZDDP. You can get it as an additive, but I don't know how well that works compared to getting the right oil in the first place.
  2. Just a ponderance, but you could add some ZDDP additive to make it EP like. Not sure how well that would work, but it's a consideration.
  3. There's not a lot if difference between Merlin and Meteor, so I'd assume that if it wasn't going backwards at an ungodly speed, they'd probably converted one into another. Unless they put some kind of special gear/transfer box in the way to reverse the drive. The first Meteors were actually made from Merlins, including crashed ones that were recovered but no longer flightworthy.
  4. No.41 Mk 1 to Mk 2S were used with both 17 and 25 pr guns
  5. Wow, I'd love to but not sure a check down the back of the sofa will yield that much.
  6. Wow, who owns the Holt Tractor? I'd love to see one of those up close. Is it a visitor or is it in the UK permanently?
  7. Nice project! I see you're missing one crucial element though. It needs a log for the side! Hope one turns up
  8. Congratulations! You know there'll be arguments about who gets to drive the WOA though
  9. Welcome along Dan. It doesn't have to be historic, just interesting
  10. Did they have anything representing British and Commonwealth forces?
  11. Welcome along Will, have you got any photo's of your project?
  12. Nice one Rob, that sounds like a cracking resource, and your Dad must have had some great stories. Have you got any photos of the Spearhead? there's certainly some TACR owners around here somewhere, though I've a soft spot for the Alvis Salamander
  13. Welcome along Bob! If you as the query on one of the more general engagement sections if the site, you may get some more responses. It's not a scope that I recognise.
  14. Congratulations! You may want to start a thread in the "Wanted" section of the site. There's a good driving instructor on tracked vehicles down in Kent, but I can't find his details. That may be the best bet as he'll be used to renting out vehicles, and have the right insurances etc.
  15. Wow. that's an unusual looking vehicle. It's not one that I recognise, but you may find someone on here who can help. You should start a thread in one of the vehicle sections of the site (the introductions section doesn't get as much engagement)
  16. Hi John, Have you got any vehicles yourself, or just perusing? Welcome along anyway.
  17. Welcome along! What sort of thing are you researching?
  18. Hi Andy, Welcome along - I'll look forward to seeing more of your project!
  19. Nice one, I guess that would count as a tracked vehicle too Have you got any pictures?
  20. Welcome along - hopefully we'll help you to find that project and get bitten by the bug
  21. Welcome along. There's a huge amount of knowledge on here (and the rest of us are good fun anyway )
  22. I know what you mean, but I don't think that was it. Like I said, most of the stewards and staff were awesome and great, whether experienced in the show or not.
  23. I saw a QL arrive late and get directed into the public parking. That said there were some major differences in behaviour between different stewards at the front, ranging from the awesomely helpful and enthusiastic to the downright nasty. I'm not going to dwell on that one too much, except to say that the vast majority of staff were awesome, but the actions of one or two bad eggs can have a disproportionate impact on the general feel and enjoyment of the show, particularly when they're in such an important and prominant position interacting with show goers. That's probably one to keep in mind if the organisers want to preserve a fun festival-like atmosphere for next year, and hopefully attract some repeat business.
