  1. even Herman Goring new about Canvey islands secret weapon. In the Battle of Britain film his character is standing there with a big map of Canvey behind him !
  2. My one never worked properly - it's still up in our loft now
  3. I did some checking at I am pretty certain it's not the LMR. The loco is an 0-4-0 tank which is a type the never used, mainly they went for a larger loco.
  4. I am not too sure it's the LMR either , although railway wagons such as the LNWR one pictured roamed far from the normal stamping grounds. It's obviously pre 1923 though.
  5. I wonder what was the most unpopular Airfix model....? Chaffinches on a stick ? Or Anne Boleyn ? I used to hate those old cars.
  6. Did you know .... .? That Airfix started by making plastic combs for the army during the war, to save on wood ?
  7. Yes, there must be millions of pounds worth stuck up in peoples attics.
  8. My grandad went over the top on the first day of the Somme at a place called Mametz. he died when I was little but I still remember the stories he told me. How could this soft gentle man go through all that and remain sane ?
  9. He was to you what my grandads was to me then. Truly great men
  10. I thought it was a new design for canvey islands flapjack weapon
  11. Well in that case I apologise and will refrain from doing such things in the future
  12. I think the picture was taken in One of our.. well lets say less desirable areas,as there is an armour plated rubbish bin behind them !
  13. And I wonder which of the two would get you all the way first ? There was a war on you know !
  14. Glad you liked it ... Oh what I would give just for one of those crates today.
  15. Welcome to the gang. From a slightly sunny Essex
