  1. Just out of curiosity what Mk is the Cent? Looks like a 20lb main gun.
  2. We've got a few spare calipers, but the seals in them are very much an unknown quantity, and the bellows dust seals are gone. Thinking about moving the reservoir to behind the drivers position and plumb it in there.
  3. Hi Markheliops, It did at one time have power assisted steering, but has been converted to standard. We have found a leak between the reservoir and the tillers; it looks like when the engine pack was once changed they damaged the line underneath the fan. Either that or the line has been rubbing on the fan housing and finally given up. I'm not too sure whether that is the only problem though, think at least one of the calipers are leaking, and the master cylinders are pretty worn. Watch this space.....
  4. Congratulations Tony!
  5. I've not heard of him or his team before, but it makes a lot of sense for them to be there. Look at how much money we throw at flood defence today and the river hasn't changed since pre 1940. Very interesting story.
  6. We are definitely using the right oil type, can't be a 100% sure of the name, but something like OM15?
  7. The calipers seem dry, and the pads are pretty good. Found a supplier for seal kits for the calipers just as they went into receivership. Thinking about moving the reservoir to behind the drivers position.
  8. G'day all. Our ARRV has decided to sulk and throw a hissey fit; the steering has gone. She's never had the best steering, but she was being used to move a T72 when the steering went completely. The reservoir was found have been empty so it was filled up and the system bled, but only good enough to get one left turn on her to drive her out of the way. When we had a look on Sunday the reservoir was empty again, with a pool of oil of the right colour in the gearbox compartment. Both tillers had no pressure in them, but after a bit of pumping there was a bit of pressure in the left but nothing in the right. We checked as much of the pipe work and system as we could get to, but no obvious leaks. I think that the master cylinders attached to the tillers may be knackered, but that doesn't explain the loss of fluid from the reservoir. I think that the leak has to be before the tillers as it's has leaked down whilst stood. Any suggestions? Also anyone know if seal kits are still available for the master cylinders? Cheers Paul
  9. G'day all I'm trying to figure out how to create a cable so that I can plug my phone into the ICBH Box I got from you. I'm guessing that a 4-way 3.5mm jack, and I know it'll need to go into the PRC socket. But that's about as far as I have got. Any ideas? Regards Paul
  10. That'd be great Adrian, I'll PM my email address to you. Paul
  11. I don't suppose anyone's got a V8 laying about they don't want? After one for a MGB conversion, would prefer a 3.9 EFI. Not fussed too much by condition. Regards Paul
  12. There may be a company in the midlands that might be able to help: Meetens Industrial Engines. They've helped me with engines such as JAP model 3's and various lister engines. Might be worth a call. (Of course they might not be able to help)
  13. G'day all, Does anyone one have any experience or knowledge of how the charging circuit is set up in a VT55? Also we could do with a manual for the beastie. Cheers all Paul
  14. The scary bit isn't the bottle strapped on, but the fella who said he uses oxygen to pump up his tyres, can't wait for them to get warm and have a puncture......
  15. Duxford has at least one. Slight distance from Kent
  16. The engine is waiting to be rebuilt still. Problem is that our fleet of 432s have been quite unwell and as they are the only source of income for the Military Vehicle Wing we really need to prioritise them. The other issue is that with an engine like the meteor there is only really one guy in the group who is qualified to do the rebuild - he's on 432 duty at the moment.
  17. You sir have a lot of patience! At least there are different coloured wires, unlike the British love of 'Pren
  18. Out of curiosity can you use ANR units and non-ANR units in the same harness? Seen some ANR CB2 units on fleabay, and wondered if I could use them with the non ANR units already installed.
  19. Hi Iain, That'd be great if you have, how much would you like? Regards Paul
  20. Hi, Does anyone have any of the following spare: a DBS unit 2 CB2 units Commanders personal unit and possibly a IB Harness adaptor? Also need a short intercomm harness cable (8 inch long - ish) Cheers Paul
  21. I used to play cricket against Shuttleworth college and Old Warden once a year for Writtle College old students. Always a joy to play on the college's pitch that is just off the end of the main runway, wondering if the biplane taking off would actually clear our heads
  22. I take it that it is stuck open..... Might be work soaking it in a realeasing agent (diesel) for a while before you do anything. If it is stuck open it could be gunk and toot building up on the valve stem. Any attempt to get it to move needs to be done slowly and gently.
