  2. Cheers chaps! Im looking forward to getting stuck into the ol' girl! Time is a bit precious at the moment with starting a new business and having a 12 week old baby, so dont expect it to be finished next week!!! Im sure this has probably been asked on here plenty of times, but i am new! Unfortunatly i could't get any documents or history with the k9, the original chassis plate is still on it but thats about it, no numberplates. What is the best way for me to go about getting it registered for the road?? I hope Q plates dont have to be involved.... any help gladly appreciated. martin
  3. HI, Im martin and I live in Shropshire, I did post a while ago about my friends ongoing K9 restoration. Well vesterday I aquired my own! a 1954 wireless truck with no box on it... it mostly all there and has the original petrol engine, it even drove itself onto the wagon:laugh: (after blowing out a core plug and soaking my feet:()!! The headgasket it gone so its pressurising the water system, but it came with a nos gasket! Im on the hunt for a few bits..windscreens, Radiator, centre dash panel, front towing eyes, front brake cylinders and possible some tyres. If anyone has anything k9 I may be interested as my friend needs some bits too! I hope you can help and look forward to keeping you all updated on the welding welding and more welding I will be doing in the near future!!
  4. Hi my name is martin im a pup at 26 and i live in shropshire, i have just been enlisted to help restore my mates 1955 austin K9. She's a rough old girl with a rotted out cab and a knackered deisel engine that was fitted in the 90's By the sound of it its gonna be a bit different though with talk of turning it into a crew cab version!! I know this will probably upset a few......but we like to be different in the shropshire hills! This seems like a good place to be to pick up a bit of knowledge and maybe some spares?? I'l post some photo's up when i get a chance. thanks and please be gentle with me im new to this mititary malarky!!
