  1. thats a nice looking truck, hope to get one to add to my collection (if a Dodge M37 and M101 trailer can be called a collection...) next year
  2. That was actually a stunt from my mates company Jackpotjoy, its mental!!!
  3. I wouldn't say that article was based on too much facts. yes the StG44 was the first modern assault rifle Yes the AK47 was an assault rifle in the same mould, short calibre round and high cap magazine but it isn't a technical copy check the first paragraph in the section entitled Post 1945 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StG_44 You could of course be writing this sarcastically
  4. I spoke to Greg today and he ran me through these plans. All looks good to me and as usual the more we put in the more we get out.
  5. I could be wrong. Been a long day (well year to be honest...)
  6. I'm with you on this. Really annoys me that groups spend a lot of effort on a display and on the next display is a civvy car or tent "hidden" under a cam net...
  7. Thats just the cost of the display, building it, paying carpenters, wood etc. Then factoring in each persons travel to get their and renting a truck to get the stuff there. Its expensive. Next year we plan on bringing some veterans over from the States so we will put them etc. It's worth it though, you can see our display here. http://www.modernforces.com/2012_WP_camp.htm And yes we have to pay for the MV entry.
  8. I think with the energy of Rex and team this will be a good move, I am sure it will have its teething issues but having a single point of responsibility os a good thing. We will be supporting as both MV owners and a Living History group as there isn't another show where we could do the display we put on, it costs us about £1,500 per year to put on the display not including fuel costs so want the maximum amount of time to enjoy the experience.
  9. Maybe its because its mentions "Hereford" on the Location...
  10. looks like a Foden DG/6 from the cab shape
  11. could it be a crude form of weight reduction? vintage racing cars always had holes drilled in everything?
  12. Exactly. My suggestion was to sell there, not buy
  13. this is a post Vietnam issue jacket, as well as the date on the label you can tell by the brass zippers. Nam era ones had aluminium zippers and command a higher price. This site should give you an idea of price but I reckon about £50-80 is probabaly right. It has name but no unit patch, which depending on the unit can up the value. http://www.vintagetrends.com/military/thumbnails.asp?MC=Military+Vintage&CA=Men&SC=Jackets%2FCoats&ST=M-65 It is however a classic item and currently very fashionable, so selling to the "Vintage" crowd could get more money so try here. Its full of hipsters paying over the odds https://marketplace.asos.com/?WT.ac=ASOS_grpnav_UK
  14. Its a good show with some friends of mine in, Bob Chatt and Owen (aka Kammo Man). You have to remember its TV though and not a serious militaria show... The guys are serious Bob runs http://www.vintageproductions.coma and Own is a big collector of Vietnam era camo. Glad tos ee its made it over here as Discovery dumped it after 4 pilots after some politics... /p
  15. now that would be interesting. Will see if I can wangle a journey up country
  16. cheers chaps. Will do some research on the items you suggested
  17. Evening all I need some help in regards to the tow hitch on my Dodge M37. A kind chap from the http://www.g741.org/ forum gave me a full tow hitch and mount but made me aware the thread (or the nut) on the items below was knackered. Basically the nut wont go onto the thread. So can anyone suggest a company who can help or even a member that can help? happy to pay of course in cash, beers or favours. Any help much appreciated.
  18. this thread has lots of now & then pictures...its a very long thread but lots in there. The person who "leads" it also lives in Normandy and is very helpful in getting info and pictures for people http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1407-norman-d-landing/page__hl__%20general%20%20apathy__st__0
