  1. Now just need to get rid of the 3 vests I have bought over the years that came with no plates.
  2. I have one of the later Parkas stored away somewhere(cant remember the size now) but from memory remember the sleeves being very short.
  3. Was a bit surprised with the sizing to be honest as expected it to be massively oversized in relation to the labelled sizes(as a lot of items tend to be) but isnt. This one just finished on Ebay---- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310570620236?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  4. Could and am probably wrong but was told by some "expert" a while back that the At least the embroidered type had a raised stitched edge. were specific to the Royal Marines??
  5. Bidders IDs are indeed private but as he pops up so often its easy to figure out who he is:D:D:D
  6. I have no problem whatsoever with anybody making a buck,we all have bills to pay and am as guilty as anybody else in te fact that if I see something cheap enough(CHEAP being the main point)I will buy it in the hope of later on selling on at a small profit or possibly using the item as a trade. I used the term Joker to describe this seller as most people if they want to sell an item buy CHEAP in order to make a small(or hopefully) large profit whereas a lot of the things this chap is buying he is paying top dollar for and then expects to make a profit on it?? Also I have a slight problem with a lot of his Vietnam(quite a bit missdescribed as original or period when they are not)items-won one item off my that probably wasnt original or period which he later listed for sale as 100% original and recently bought from a market in Vietnam;) Also I dont bid against him just that I have a lot of items that he bids on in my watch list and always makes me chuckle seeing his ID amongst the bidders:nut::nut::nut: I wish him the very best of luck and if people out there are prepared to pay his prices or get sucked in with some of his descriptions then more fool them.
  7. Thanks for the link, will check it out now. The eagle and prop appear to be stitched on a wool/felt type base if that makes sense.
  8. Again, thanks for the info. Label still present but totally washed out/faded with nothing at all being visible. Belt still present insignia/patches present are(all hand sewn) pair of eagles on each shoulder, below these pair of patches with a prop on each and on the lower left sleeve just above the false cuff stitching is an upturned l/cpl chevron.
  9. He is a trader(how on earth he makes any money Im not sure) who seems to be bidding on pretty much EVERY item of 68 Patt,DPM Windproofs,Para Smocks and most 1959 Patt Denisons. The joke is he is winning a lot of these items at high prices and immediately lists them for sale on his site at inflated prices(he has just won a run of the mill 68 Patt smock for £23.88-what price will he list it for £40!!!!).
  10. Many Thanks for the great info. Not into RAF stuff in all honesty(just picked up this tunic)so dont want to go to the expense of books, research etc as doubt very much Ill start collecting the stuff. From your info it sounds like it could well be a Pre 1941 tunic(chuffed if it is) as it has a double cuff of sorts-normal cuff but has 2 rows of stitching sewn around to give the impression of a double type cuff??? Material is quite coarse,KC brass buttons, inside is lined with a sort of french blue denim type material and also has what looks like an FFD pocket at the lower right skirt.
  11. As I have no clue AT ALL regarding RAF stuff does anybody please have any info, pics, links etc with regards to what to look out for as from what I can gather with the 4 Pkt OA Tunics that there were Pre WW2,WW2,50s and of course the later/modern patterns????? Many Thanks
  12. Not much help Paul as I dont know the exact details but yes,the WW2 Greatcoats are different from the later ones.
  13. Been relisted quite a few times at varying prices.
  14. Sounds like the type I have. Any ideas exactly when the sizing on all garments changed to metric as I was of the understanding that the easy way to date Falklands era gear is by the pre metric sizing as it didnt change over until 1984 but if it was in fact earlier that complicates things:mad: If anyone has anything DPM to sell whack it on Ebay as Brokenarrow seems to be at least bidding if not buying every single item and especially DPM Para Smocks and 59 Patt Denisons;)
  15. Youre lucky to have them with green lids, apart from 1 mine have the later black lids for some reason.
  16. You might be lucky as Im sure of the very minute % of people that are happy with the stuff are happy with the JG stuff they make but its still a gamble as to if you receive anything at all as a lot of people never get any of the items they order so guess it depends on how desperate you are for the items.
  17. Mark,I have never dealt with them myself but check on various WW2 or Reenacting forums and 99.9% of people would tell you to steer well clear:(
  18. Also, never ever buy anything from a Vintage clothing website unless dirt cheap as for an example a lot are now asking £30-£40 for the £5-£10 French F1/F2 Olive and Cammo lightweight jackets so no doubt they price everything else likewise.
  19. From what Ive seen over the years unlike a lot of other items the price of M65s has come down-you would struggle to find one for under £40 now easily pick them up for £10-£20,and thats Nam dated ones as well. Of course, you could as a lot go by Ebay prices and think as Lilysplace does that theyre worth £80+ but to me personally NO M65 is worth more than £40 and that includes nicely badged up ones. I paid less than £40 for my ultra rare very early M65(no eppaulettes).
  20. what kind of money are they going for now? How long is a piece of string. On Ebay especially these days pricing is bizarre-you might see one go for £XXXXX amount next week and see one identical next week go for half the price or less. There seems to be a lot of wealthy nutters on there these days who will pay ANY amount for an item but as already said from a collectors point of view there are many factors that will decide its value, condition, date, zip type,patches/insignia etc.
  21. Hello Will, not wishing to start an argument but while I have no idea as to what country its from I know as a fact it certainly isnt American. Thanks
  22. Only just realised looking at that pic again, the chap wearing the Parka is wearing Hi Leg Boots,in 1982!!!
  23. Been after one of these for a very long time. Far from mint but more importantly for me it fits and wearable. Came at the prefect time as well, freezing cold here and had hail the size of grapes last night!!!!
