  1. So now that I'm getting regular paychecks again, i thought what better way to celebrate than to go scrounging through a few local thrift stores, and boy did I. Shirt, Cold Weather, Field, 80% Wool 20% Nylon, Olive Green 108 Dated 1978, Dale Fashions Inc. Shirt, Utility, Cotton Sateen, OG 107 Dated 1975, Selma Apparel Corp. I also got a 6 color desert pattern 'Pack Cover'
  2. At the bottom of the article theres a little addition about the retirement life of these machines. It seems the Dutch had an affinity for the Teracruzer as alot of them were bought up by various dutch construction companies for specific purposes. Some of them also went to the artic with the Navy and the U.S.A.R.P. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2009/03/10/march-military-campaign-antarctica-1962-and-1963/ Between these two articles is every picture of the teracruzer i have know, anyone know of anymore tucked away?
  3. I recently stumbled upon this website http://www.mace-b.com/38TMW/ . It goes through the develpoment and service history of the tactical missle is the USAF, the bases they were stationed at around the world, and my favourite part, an article on the FWD MM1 Teracruzer, the fascinating vehicle used to transport these massive missles. http://www.mace-b.com/38TMW/Missiles/MM-1.htm The site contains a rather large ammount of photos,. enjoy
  4. that is a very nice looking trailer, and a nice lookin' dog.
  5. would you like another one? :-P http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Vietnam-Early-Olive-Drab-M1-Helmet-Camo-Cover-/370305216473?pt=AU_Militaria&hash=item5637e92fd9 on Ebay, in Australia from the pictures I've seen, I would say the O.D covers were issued into the early 60's to NON-combat personnel. i could be completely wrong of course, ;-P did a little searching. info says the all O.D. ones are 1950's production, seeing use in the early days on Vietnam with the Marines.

  7. A nicely restored soft top HAR1 just recently sold on ebay here in the states, wish i could remember for how much.. Nice lookin' trucks they are.
  8. Keep me posted on those federals, depending on how soon you decide to let them go i may be very interested. I'm located in Ohio.
  9. N.O.S. M4 HST gear on ebay. Not sure if it's needed or not, but it's here- http://www.ebay.com/itm/M4-Military-High-Speed-Tractor-Gear-NOS-/390296808709?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5adf80ad05
  10. That there is quite a bit of beautiful coachwork. I wonder who the coach-builder was, surely something like that would've at least been done in small numbers. Just look too clean to be a one-off or a garage job..
  11. Depending on the individuals skill level or craftiness it could be fabricated from what was laying around, or they could have retrofitted a convertible top from a civilian car, which is what it looks like to me.
  12. Both of the pictures are quite extraordinary. There's no doubt in my mind that these are S.A.S jeeps, in the first picture you can clearly see the half circle bullet proof windshield. It's also visible in the second picture, but it appears to be half folded. The jeep also has the 3 slats on ether side of the grill cut out. Is that just a box chillin' on the bumper of the jeep in the first picture? or something else? it looks like it could be some sort of unfamiliar support structure, it also looks like a box.. Random- But upon closer examination, these are 2 different jeeps, and 2 different LVT's
  13. Brazilian makes the most sense, as now that you say that all 3 of these guys look kinda Brazilian. Also the guy in the middle, the one whose pointing, doesn't comply with U.S. uniform regulations. He has trimmed his facial hair into a ''Von Dyke", where as U.S. regulation states "He face will be clean shaven, except that a mustache may be worn. When worn, the mustache will be neatly trimmed and must be contained within imaginary vertical lines from the corners of the mouth and the margin area of the upper lip. The individual length of a mustache hair fully extended must not exceed 1/2 inch."
  14. Maybe it's his sock puppet buddy....
  15. ill try to make a compleate list of everything they have laying around outside, I'll concentrate on the HST's, light and heavy duty trucks and variations, light vehicles and variations, plant/machinery; then engines, transmissions, transfer cases, PTO's, axles, and winches. I'll also try to obtain at least a partial list of their N.O.S stock and whatever else they have in that warehouse. Anyone want me to ask about anything in-particular??
  16. So it turns out that surplus dealer with all the M4HST's is about 90 minutes away from my residence :cool2::-D. Ima have to take a trip up there next weekend maybe
  17. oh my, how delightfully quirky :-D

  21. So I was up late last night looking for info on the Cadillac and Packard based street ambulances used state side by the U.S. Medical Dept. and base hospitals during the 30’s 40’s and 50’s. While not shedding any new light on this subject for myself I found an interesting photo showing a ‘new’ 1942 caddy next to the old 34 panel. I am now more interested in finding info on that 34. :-P I did somehow manage to stumble upon an Australian photo archive with an International Harvester collection. Included in the collection were several delivery photos of military contract orders. http://museumvictoria.com.au/collections/themes/3158/international-harvester-ih-collection?start=1. Also in the collection are D30 and K5 based trucks, and (my favorite) militarized D2 Utilities. The captions for these say that these ambulances were for the RAAF. D2 based 2 Stretcher Ambulance D15 based 4 Stretcher Ambulance
