  2. What a great event ! It's the 1st time I have attended and will definitely be going again. A warm welcoming group excellent mess tent and hot tea just when you need it. Thanks David ! It's the 1st time my son has attended a military event also and we all had a great time . The pictures are brilliant. When I get some time I will add the ones I took of the convoy from the roof hatch of the Snatch. A big thanks to all Colin
  3. I will pop the bonnet on my pair and look at the 12v side. As mine have two 1 for 12v 1 for 24v Will post when I have checked
  4. Try before you buy ??? Me thinks if they were all in running order and looked pretty that Withams price wouldn't quite be so favourable towards the enthusiast. Lol As with most military enthusiasts my enjoyment comes from taking em apart and putting em back together again..
  5. After 4 months 26KK58 restored and road legal and made it to the War and Peace show.... 26KK76 yet to be tackled,,,

  7. Im not too far away here in Yeovil and could bring a vehicle to display of an 'apt' nature to support the day. So I would gladdly help in any way
  8. Thats such a shame Clive, allthough it may be peoples 'holiday' they should get with the spirit with green kit in the fields,as for the quads etc it shouldnt be allowed. Im down tomorrow lunch time and with two appropriate vehicles and a green 9x9 ! Did you manage to take the shorland ?
  9. great pictures Paul ! didnt see much up here in Yeovil on airday. Catch up soon Colin
  10. Definately going to attend with a GS 110 allthough I may bring something a little more exciting depending on time/funds. Anybody else from the west country travelling up the A303 on the Saturday morning.
  11. The last one on the weekly tender went for £1300.. I think the winner of that one is Mr Smug ! mind you had 'parts missing' whatever that meant
  12. The transmission fault was nothing serious, just seized linkage caused by buildup of sand on the exterior of underbody, the vehicle started and drove in forward and reverse. The reserve price was lowered on the saturday prior to the listing finished... I bid 1 minute before the vehicle finished and got it. A bargain me thinks I know the other snatches that went in the main tender went for £2800-£4000 plus the vat. As far as being in a right mess, chassis wise its fine,as is drivetrain, footwell on passenger side requires a repair but the rest is cosmetic. Stanby for a full report in the restoration of this cheap motor.
  13. http://www.mod-sales.com/auction/vehicle/related/35185/LEFT_HAND_DRIVE_LAND_ROVER_UPGRADED_110HT_(TITHONUS)_FFR_DIESEL_HARD_TOP..htm At that price over 7k plus 20%vat too.! No power steering either.
  14. many thanks for the welcomes ! A great forum and site to have found ,only wish I found it sooner as I feel I have missed out. Lots of great tales, advice and pictures. My reason for joining is to persue my hobby of British military Landrovers. My other hobby is with C&S :-):-) and yes I was at Stoneleigh. I cant remember ever being ill in the vicinity of the Gammon Bar at Beltring though my antics may have had that effect on others lol. I look forward to offering my advice or help within the site if its of any use and more so look forward to receiving any pointers or advice from the wealth of expertese that I see within the forums in general. Its nice that I recognise a few familiar faces and I look forward to meeting you at shows in the forthcoming months ! kindest wishes Colin
  15. Hi all, I have recently found time to sit and play with the interweb whilst researching the pros and cons of yet another military vehicle purchase. All I can say is how fabulous it is to find the wealth of information to view ,the passion and enthusiasm of fellow military vehicle owners and im looking forward to some sound advice at my trivial questions i may throw up from time to time. My field of interest is mainly with british military landrovers, I have owned several over the years including lightweights ,109s of various configerations and the military 110 models.Of which currently I have 3. Show wise im not as active as I once was what with the price of fuel and family commitments but am allways at Beltring and can usually be found making a prat of myself in the Gammon Bar on Friday and Saturday evening when not manning the TAT stall which I also take to a few other shows in the year. I notice and recognise a few names allready on here and am glad I found the site, am looking forward to adding where I can my experiances pictures and advice. Thankyou all in anticipation for replies you may post to my little questions and woes, best wishes and regards Colin

Hopefully as I progress the restoration when time permits ,I shall post on the forum pictures etc and pass on info . If anybody can assist with info or parts I would be deeply indebted. many thanks
