  2. Thanks! Yes, the name of the trucking company is cool Adrian, but damn did it take them a long time to get here! I still have more parts coming next weekend....hood, fenders, goodies. The truck has an NOS engine in it. My immediate goals are to get her road worthy again and slap some green paint on! Eventually the cab will need to come off for repairs. I just have too many other projects that I need to finish up first. Once I've determined what I want/need to keep from the donor truck, I will be parting out the rest. If there is any interest in parts off it please let me know. Also, any advice in what I should definitely keep would be great too. Or I could just find another truck Chasis and make a Franken-T of sorts...... Cheers! Sean
  3. Took Delivery today. More Pix Here..... http://seanfoto.com/diamond-t
  4. Hi Jack, What exactly do you need? I might have what you need in the near future..... if everything goes as planned:D. Unfortunately I am in the US though. SD
  5. Terry, Its because you are blessed with the Green Machine Sickness!! Here, Let me help cure you..... This is from its second swim in Fla before she made it across the pond to the UK. As stated previously, they don't turn well on land unless the turf is sand or really muddy and soft. And if I made it over for the W&P show..... there may have been enough encouragement to hit that lake up!! Cheers SD Enjoy!
  6. Here is a video when it was still in the states. This is the second swim we did after many months of hard work! Enjoy! SD
  7. Does anyone have video of the LVT-4 that attended?..... Or pictures? Please post of email to sderen@mac.com Thanks Sean
  8. Hate to say it.... but that one is too far gone to do any thing with. You would be better off with a good set of blue prints. As far as the steering comment, They don't steer well in grass. The ground holds together too well. The tracks are made for sand, mud and water. So the softer the better. They will slide nicely on pavement though. They only weigh 14 tons. "Big Bum Betty" will be at W&P show. Check her out. Wish I could have made it. Here is a short video of her 2nd time swimming in Florida before she was shipped to the UK. Enjoy SD

  11. What I find very interesting is the remnants of the fording kit on the rear of the foreground Sexton w/ US tracks. Post #6 of this thread shows more detail pics of such apparatus on our project. http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15859&highlight=Sexton Sean

  17. Well the Ferret has a new home! I arranged for a good friend of mine who has been wanting one, to be the happy new owner. We Picked her up yesterday. It was a little tricky getting it out of where she sat and then up on the trailer but we managed quite well. Here is a pic of her..... I am sure Walter will start a thread as he starts her restoration.
  18. Thanks for the input guys! First of all, my profile has been updated:-D I will ask about the tow starting, but I don't think he tried that as he said it would turn over easily, just wouldn't start. With that comment said about pull starting (which is a No No!), What is the correct free wheel pulling procedure to get it on a trailer then? Or just to pull it around to see if the brakes are seized or not. My guess from memory, which isn't that good. Place pre-selector in Neutral, the "clutch" peddal when pressed should stay in the down position? Then put the forward/Reverse selector to Neutral. Hand Brake off. Also, I'll ask about any maintenance he has done to see if he screwed any thing up. I appreciate the advice! Sean
  19. Hi Guys! I may be acquiring a Ferret here in the near future. Although I have driven a few, it's been a good 15+ yrs. I know working on them is cramped as with most armored vehicles, But what are the major issues with them? The things to look for when purchasing one? I have looked on the major parts dealers web sites. Power packs and gear boxes are available. Are there any mechanical parts that are tough to get or will bust the bank if your vehicle should need them? Like the hubs or drive assemblies at the end of the inner drive shafts. Sorry, don't know what they are called yet. Here's the "Story" on the vehicle in question: Guy Bought it as a toy. Drove it for a while. Says it ran Great but one day it just died as he was driving around the yard. He put more fuel in thinking he ran out. It cranked over like crazy, but wouldn't start. He couldn't find any redneck mechanic that would be willing to look at it, so, it has been sitting there in the same spot for many years now. He has finely decided to sell it. Now it could be something as simple as a fuel pump or lack of spark, which would be great. But I am just concerned if the story isn't correct and there was a big Bang right before it quit that he forgot to mention! I'm not even sure if my friend and I will keep it but it seems like a good deal for what he is asking. Especially as it is fairly close to home all ready. Thanks for any input! I'll be seeing it in the next day or 2. Sean
  20. Ha! Well that last post didn't seem to work out so well! So here we go again! Practice makes perfect Right! Not a lot of progress on the Sexton but we did get a roof over her! We will be on a plane for England in the AM and then on to Tanks in Town! Hope to see Y'all there!!! Sean
