  1. Hi Guys! I have started a thread for our Sexton Restoration on the MLU forum, but since so many of my British and Euro friends have been so helpful, I thought I should start one here as well! She is almost down to the hull at the moment, so in the next few days, I will try to catch up via photo's the best I can! Hope you all enjoy! Sean
  2. That looks Flippin Funtastic!!!:wow: What engine are you guys using? Sounds like it has a turbo?:nut:
  3. A few Weasels and LVTs in the vid as well. And a link to some of my work: http://www.seanfoto.com/d-day
  4. Well I have seen it before! Being a professional photographer, I also monitor a few photo forums. One of which organizes photo expeditions all over the world. Even to extreme places like the south pole! I can't find the photo, but a few years ago one of those tanks popped up. There are at least 2 down there. Upon further investigation, I found this video: Don' blink at minute 1:48!! http://www.realmilitaryvideos.com/wwii-allies/antarctic-expedition-the-controversial-1946-mission-to-antarctica/ Very rare to find footage of the actual vehicle!
  5. Not sure how it 'Happened' ....... not sure who technically 'Won'....... looks like a drawl to me. :-D
  6. Found these on a link from another thread. http://www.cultura.marche.it/cultura/mostraguerra/default_sik.asp?page=8&order=id%3F
  7. WOW! ...For Hours! Can anyone enlighten the masses on the era and locations of these photos? I am especially interested because we are restoring am early Sexton and there are some pix in here of such vehicles. Link 57 and 62 thus far. (I'm only up to link 88! ) Our Hull # is 130. It is a Sexton II but has a riveted lower hull. Thanks! SD

  9. Thanks Adrian! I was guessing a little more so that is gonna help. Thanks for the tip on the rising hull. One of the main reasons I didn't want to just block it up was the chance of something moving on me be the time I go put it back in. I have a pretty good idea on my design for the trolley. It will be adjustable to compensate for the rise and fall. Will post a pick when its done. Here she is at the moment.
  10. Just wondering if anyone had a ballpark weight of a 3 piece final drive with transmission. I am getting ready to remove the unit from our Sexton. Trying to decide weather to build a dolly or just block it up. If I make a dolly, I need an approximate weight so as to know how strong the casters need be. Also, if anyone has any recommendations on this task it would be appreciated. Thanks! SD
  11. Hey Richard! What I think may be happening is, although you registered, the moderator needs to "accept" your request. After that happens, all the images will be accessible. Let me know what happens! SD:nut:
  12. Thanks for all the comments Guys! Yes we are all a bit crazy, but the strange thing is, ....Tanks Keep me Sane! As for Adrians comment about the weather, When you posted that, we just had our coldest morning this winter, 33 degrees F. But don't worry, we are back to T-Shirts today! Apparently, one must be registered with the MLU forum to see all the pictures. Kind of like this forum. So I will probably be posting them on one of my photography sights here in the near future. But I do encourage everybody to chime in on the MLU. Thanks Kids!! Sean
  13. Hi Kids! Yep!..I'm a Newbie! I was referred to this forum from my thread on the Maple Leaf Up forum on the Sexton restoration I have underway. http://www.mapleleafup.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15859 There are a lot of tidbits here and i am looking forward to this New wealth of information, as well as, meeting new people in the hobby. Since I already peruse multiple forums, I'll keep the detailed restoration thread where it is on the MLU forum. However, I'll be sure to keep you all posted on the progress. (most of us check all the major ones any how) As for my self, I am a second generation restorer/enthusiast. My father and I own an MB, a Mule, a SW CCKW, and a T-16 which is under going restoration as well. The Sexton is a project I am doing for a friend who owns a non-profit organization honoring our veterans. We simply can't get it done fast enough! Some of you may have seen my "Real Job" here: http://www.seanfoto.com/d-day For those who haven't, enjoy. Some of your vehicles may be in here. I will be posting a 'Parts Needed' list for the Sexton soon! Thanks Sean
