  1. Hi C, Looks like a good idea to me. I will try and add my 434 and 432 to the list with photo . Regards Peter
  2. Hi, I found this on youtube, and i think this is your vehicle "in service" with previous owner....... Regards Peter
  3. Where have all the gearboxes gone?? CVRT Sturgeons went from BATUS to Castlemartin then went to Withams, But member Agripper reports in a thread the following quote.........No. But it does begine with a "S". They are all running and apart from 1 where drivable. they all have the cummins powerpacks in. I managed to get some spares for mine but could not get the powerpacks out.
  4. Should have gone to Withams, at 20k a vehicle it would make a lot more sense than this......... Latvia will buy from the United Kingdom 120 CVR(T)s or Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) armored vehicles for 70 million euros and the first vehicles will be delivered in 2016, Minister of Defence Raimonds Vejonis told the press. Even though these will be second-hand vehicles, they will be upgraded before handing them over to Latvia, he said. In order to reduce the costs, most of the upgrading will be done in Latvia. "Although used, these armored vehicles have already proven themselves in battles,” the minister said, noting that Latvia had to consider its limited budget capacity.
  5. Was loaded with a Forklift Truck at Withams, the hiab would only just lift the Samson, but easily lifted the sabre at a 4 metre radius.
  6. A Lorry with a 8 ton HIAB will do the Job, moved a Sultan Sabre and Samson this way with no problems at all.
  7. Just one Marder IFV in the Littlefield collection is estimated to sell at $175,000 USD.Bet they cant get that amount for them as scrap. Should have sold them to the UK Army, put them through ABRO Refurb, and the would not have to go through FRES ASCOD, and saved a billion pounds, but then we have QE so money has no value!
  8. One good thing I managed to get from Ramco surplus sales was a 1500 Litre SealVac Vacuum Defueling Bowser, It was being advertised as a 100 gallon bowser, and I got it really cheap, less than a builders fuel bowser. It was made for the USAF to de-fuel aircraft.Very usefull tool indeed.
  9. I purchaced the FV434 from Withams , and it has always had a problem blocking fuel filters. When I first drained the tank it was full of Dirty Muddy Very Dark Red Diesel, not like farm diesel which is light red, so at some point I think someone has put dirty heating oil in tank. In service the FV434 was operated by 14 sig regiment, and was completley rebuilt in 2000 by ABROs. So why put dirty fuel in the vehicle??
  10. Thanks for the tip, have now purchaced this filter. So now I need to remove the fuel tank on the FV434, as I put clean fuel in and dirty fuel comes out the drain plug, and slowly, I have cleaned out the compartment where the fuel filter sits, but the tank is compartmented, and there seems to be mud or alge in one of the other compartments. Has anyone here had the job of removing and cleaning a fuel tank on a FV434.?
  11. Hi, Yes the rack on the injector pump had stuck, managed to get it free again, and back up and running ok.So thank you for the good advice. With the FV432 running again, decided to clean the fuel filter on the FV434.So after draining 100 litres of fuel, and removing fuel pump from tank, then removing fuel filter as it was encased with brown mush, had the num-skull idea to steam clean it, and it promptly destroyed the brass mesh, so dont steam clean the fuel tank filter. So now looking for a fuel filter with the following part numbers 0.005" DMF/03.2094 APWC5671, if you have one for sale let me know.
  12. Hi, Tried to start the FV432 today, the firs time in a year. Battery flat, charged batteries. Engine turns over but wont fire. Fuel is going to the injector pump, and back down the return line, but nothing out of the injector pipes. Checked the FIP solenoid, ok, checked fuel emergency cut off, ok, checked govenor oil level, ok. Any ideas on this, or has anybody had a similar problem?? Any advice welcome.
  13. So when the CVRT fleet went under LEP did they automatically upgrade the TN15 gearbox, or did they first do a trial diesel engine to origional gearbox, have several failures then upgrade?
  14. One of these is now on Withams on line auction sale, starting price 3750. How long would a gearbox from a petrol cvrt TN15 Gearbox last if put in this vehicle??
  15. Your right there Chris, last year when I purchaces some of the petrol CVRTs,one to rebuild and one for spares, I was told by Withams I would be able to get about 2200 for a clean Sultan hull, but the only scrapyard that would accept this would be EMR (Euro Metal Recycling). So works out about 600 a ton. I did note one of the Sturgeons was in mint condition, and not used since base overhaul, but still had instrument cluster, and odometer removed?
  16. Also the dash has been removed and chucked in back of each vehicle, and parts removed from the dash???
  17. What do you estimate the scrap price to be :-)
  18. I was at Withams today, more of these MCT variants were ariving on low loader. I think they are going in the next tender, about 20 of them so far lined up in the sales area. They are all non-runners, all have drivers instrument board removed (but in back of vehicle)??? The turrets are complete as far as I can see, with optical sight and joystick controlls etc. So far they have about 80 diesel cvrt on site with another 450 to be delivered.;-)
  19. Diesel CVRT now on Witham SV Direct Sales pages....... http://www.mod-sales.com/direct/vehicle/,37,/57844/Samson_CVRT.htm
  20. I like the sound of a petrol Jag J60 the best, cummins sounds like the post office lorry has just been down the road. J60 is like a rr merline engine, just sounds so cool. :-)
  21. I was at Witham SV yesterday picking up my won auction lots, big van load of cvrt parts :-) Had a chat with PS about pricing of diesel cummins cvrts. 2 have already been sold to collectors. The Spartan is 20k + VAT The Scimitar is 30K + VAT (but this is non runner, starter motor just makes a click noise)
  22. My CVRT SAMSON direct Ex Gulf War , Had a FULL fuel tank, and the fuel sender had one bolt holding it in place, the other holes were full of sand so it had been like this for a long time.
  23. Part of the Bowman Set up also used by United States, Its a HARRIS RF COMMUNICATION RF- 5032PA-125E RF POWER AMPLIFIER AN/PRC-138 FALCON II Mounting Tray
