  1. Hi, I want to get a FV432 from Withams in there January sale, now they are at the end of there stocks i will possibly end up with a dead one. Delivery by Withams is relativley cheap but i was told i would need a vehicle to pull it of the low loader. I am restoring a David Brown Implematic 990 tractor which is rated at 55 Hp and is in running order. Does anyone out there know if this is man enough to Shunt a FV432 or any advice on shunting this type of vehicle. Also a 7.5 ton Daff lorry?????can this be sued to shunt over a Field? I will try to post a piccy of tractor. Thanks [attachment deleted by admin]

Hi Chris, that is the best looking J60 engine i have seen.Note the Kigas jets fitted to Inlet manifold.Lots of these engines fitted with Kigas jets all haveCon rods through the block,i suppose driver running engine in dragster mode.Do you have any instructions on replacing a J60 Head Gasket set. Thanks :-D
  6. They are the identical to those fitted next to the drivers right hand side of a FV 432. The problem with civvy replacements is that they dont fit in battery box.Does anyone know who has these for sale.Type is Lead Acid Maintenance free. The ones fitted to my Communications Cabin came back from OP TELIC"14 sig rgt" in 2003 so may have suffered from extreme heat.
  7. Hello, When i visited the site "Tank Graveyard" a bike scrambel club had booked the common for a Sunday bike-scramble fest sort of thing.I had to wait for them to go home before i could look at all the armour. The multimap refrence is here.. http://www.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?client=public&X=478000&Y=135000&width=70 0&height=400&gride=478000&gridn=135000&srec=0&coor dsys=gb&db=&pc=&zm=0&scale=5000&up.x=287&up.y=7 Most of the Tanks are in big trenches filled with water so they can train recovery crews. There are about 5 Cheiftain ARRVs in complete condition, about 5 cheiftains"one has armour penetration to turret, possibly by APDS shell. [attachment deleted by admin]

There are about 40 Armoured vehicles on site. used for recovery training. When i had a look around vehicles were, FV432 ,CVRT Striker & Spartan, Cheiftain, Saxon, ARRV, about every type of vehicle in the british army.Well worth a look. Picture is from Website link i found of the site.......... [attachment deleted by admin]
  9. Hi All, I am having problems with 12v 110Ah Automotive batteries. They are dated 2001 but will only charge to 8 volts. The are identical to batteries fitted to armourd vehicles. They are made by Hawker Energy, NSN-6140-99-219-2903 rated at 12 volts 110 Ah. Does anyone out there know how to revive these batteries, or a source of new batteries. Thanks 8-)
