  1. A picture just for interest. CMP's of the 40th Infantry Division (I Think!) crossing a river on their way to Rangoon. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o72/rik242_2006/42c1_1.jpg[/img]
  2. Blimey! Didnt expect that so quick! Looked vaguely continental to me.
  3. Whats wrong with those ones then?
  4. As title suggests captured US M8 under new management pic.
  5. A photo from D-Day or thereabouts, looks like embarkation prior to invasion. Does anyone recognise where it is? http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o72/rik242_2006/American_troops-1.jpg[/img]
  6. A sea of dead jeeps, no, they arent there anymore! Post war Gaza.
  7. Very heavy door knocker, but what is it? Is it self propelled? :shake: :schocked: :shake: http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o72/rik242_2006/031.jpg[/img]
  8. My landy ambulance had EP90 stencilled on the diffs.
  9. Petrol Electric?! :schocked: Are you saying it was a hybrid, did it work on the same principle as modern day hybrids?
  10. Where that photo from Tim?
  11. .....and me!...
  12. Perhaps you should email and make an offer Jack....
  13. Welcome aboard... :schocked: :schocked: :schocked:
  14. Second that, great pics. We went there last year and Im sure we didnt see some of those. Another visit this year maybe, hopefully to coincide with the Purbeck meeting! (Family permitting!). Always good to see other peoples photos.
  15. Happy new year all, while I sit here with my better half watching Life of Brian with a few tinnies! (Small daughter in bed another due in 4 weeks or so doesnt make for a good social life!) Bottoms up! ;-)
  16. Hi Simon, start a blog on that please, it will be most handy! Ive heard of the T plate before as Richard said it is tropicalised, makes you wonder if your body has been away and come back, or was just prepped for use in tropical. Have you come across any photos of the C8 in photos, apart from your dads. They all seem to be MW's in service as GS wagons, was this due to the amount of MWs produced?
  17. Happy Birthday!! Ive lubricated the grease nipples on the dancing girls so you you have trouble free day!
  18. From what I know Richard, Kegresse was in charge of the Czars workshop for these vehicles. Did he move to France or England after the revolution? Would be nice to get some close up shots of the drives.
  19. Huge assault guns, I dont know what they are..
  20. Good to hear! We've been busy making the cab today, long process, but Stuart has been doing excellent work. I think we will see how badly the MC is leaking, Im sure a rebore would cost less than that, we will see how it goes. Starter button melted down the other day, so need a replacement, have you had any problems with yours? Have you got any photos of yours you can email or post up so I can see what you are doing? As for the MOT questionIm sure it lies in how the vehicle is registered, not that it qualifies for a lot. A friend of mine has declared his Unimog as agricultural so is exempt from a lot of items including front number plates. Im wondering what weight John and everyone has declared their vehicle as and for what use?
  21. Well hopefully I will get to an event this year! Miised out on everything this past year due to family and work and the missus going to a beardie/folkie thing. So aim to put a few things in this years diary, especially the Purbeck one which I can combine witha a family holiday. Date please! New sprog due to pop out in about 4 weeks time-hopefully with a paintbrush in hand! Negotiating with a Champ owner to get a daily runabout for the New Year!
  22. Hi Lynn, welcome aboard, we'll have to enlarge the fish pond now to accomodate you! -was that pikes or bikes?
  23. Another interesting website to while away those long evenings. Lots of photos, then and now pics. Worth a look. http://www.controltowers.co.uk/
  24. Good link Tony, thanks for that. Is there any way of finding out exactly what the dates for this year are to drive through?
