  7. Jeep chassis and front body sections , all match. 1942 Willys but British army jeep, possibly part of the Lend/Lease. Rebuild date and garage that rebuilt it in the fifties. Vehicle based Leamington Spa area post war. Chassis and parts found in a hedge in a museum field in East Anglia somewhere before they came into my possesion.
  8. Not far off the mark Tony. Freikorps were formed after the WW1. Senior German officers recruited soldiers for their own "private" armies. Mostly to defend against any possible invasion by the newly formed Red army. They were also used to crush a communist uprising in Germany after that. Some 30,000 Freikorps killed 600 communists in Germany. Another german officer also had his own little private army. A certain Mr Hitler, who then dissolved the Freikorps in 1921 (I think), and formed the Sturm Abteilung, Storm Troopers to you and I. These were under the general command of Ernst Roehm until 1929 (I think) until A Mr Himmler took over.
  9. Nice pics Nick. I bet theres not many historical wrecks left on firing ranges.
  10. No. 4. The germans decided to stop, they could have continued but didnt.

  13. Despite the fact that the green one looks like a fog and the white one looks like Deputy Dawg, there are a lot of cannon in the background. Are they something to do with Sweden being a main exporter of cannons in the medieval europe?

  22. Given recent posts Richard not a bad guess I suppose! No Clive , despite your superhuman powers of military knowledge, not a garden shed, a lot heavier! And no windows to speak of!
  23. I missed out on one very well priced one recently, the thing is they are not much bigger than your average family car. But youve answered a couple of questions Richard, especially the availability of tyres etc. Are they not available from vintage tyres, allbeit at an extortionate price. Is there not another tyre size option that can be used?
