  1. I can't see the image --- heeeeeeelp! A dukw in a field and I cant see it - ye gods.
  2. Best and worst eh? Best thing this year was either my trip to the South of France with my friend and her cousin, or maybe that drive from California to Carolina earlier in the month. The worst -- had a few of those horrible sinking (figuratively, not literally) moments throughout the year. But I am gonna go with finding out my dad was in hospital while I was abroad this year. And resolutions - oh God. :shake: I never really make resolutions but perhaps this year I will resolve not to let people get so under my skin. 8-) No one can know if I fail miserably on that now can they?
  3. :knockknock: Happy Birthday Sir!
  4. Ah ha --- now, lemme see. :coffee2: What have you done that is pretty unique? It may not be unique but it is kind of special - I have been a passenger driving from the West Coast of America to the East Coast. A whole week on the road. Pity it wasn't in a Dukw... coulda gone around by the Pacific and passed up on that whole Texas ordeal. Ha. Who have you met, who have you sat next to? I am a tour guide in Dublin, and on one of my last tours this year I had a famous passenger! Jackie Chan -- though no one believes me now. A scene in his movie, Medallion, shows him jumping off City Hall in Dublin, onto a Yellow Dukw! Have you been on TV, in a film, been an extra. I have been on tv inadvertently... When doing tours around the city, if it is kind of late we end up on the 6'o clock news as we chug past Government Buildings going back to base. Been on the news in that fashion a couple of times. Have you helped someone famous get out of trouble shocked No -- Or have I? I roared at Jonathan Rhys Meyers when he was filming in Dublin but I am not too sure if I was getting him out of trouble. Have you worked for anybody famous? Famous is relative.... Have you sold anything to anybody of interest? Nope! Unless that tour to Jackie Chan counts... I didn't sell it to him however, I just yapped at him for over an hour
  5. Oh boy - someone asking me to post pictures! Hehe - I think they call that a can of worms. More than happy to do so. Might stick them up in the gallery or I'll poke around and look for a section of the forum to do so. We have 7 dukws here in Dublin - 6 are 'tour dukws' and we have one that's not been altered, just left with the military look. And club house cleaning roster? What that? EDIT: Yep, I just posted 4 photos in the gallery. Will add more tomorrow. Right now, I must to sleep! :schocked:
  6. Thanks for the welcome folks! I have made a note to step lightly around the Hippos, pole cats and eh... tigers, was it? Heh - And Joris - It is a delight upon diesel-y delight to be on a Dukw! In or out of the water
  7. :shocking: Hi there! I was directed here by a friend who thinks that I could have quite alot of fun reading things on this forum! My name is Lynn, I work with the Dublin based DUKW company as a Tour Guide. So lo! I have little knowledge of DUKW 'innards' - I just know a bit about their history, picked up from various sources, and I have a ton of affection for them. I'm 24. Engaged to a US Marine ( I swear it is love and not just the whole military thing ). Irish. I like a good cup of tea anytime of the day... - Ehm, what else can I tell you? Oh! I take ALOT of photographs and have over 1,000 photos of the Dublin Dukws. Unfortunately I have been foiled in every attempt to see DUKW's elsewhere in the world - the gods collude against me in that respect. But I do intend on seeing DUKW's somewhere soon and shall take a zillion and three photos of them too. So that's about it for now. HI!
