  3. Also maybe worth checking ou Ring Smartchargers and Ctek chargers as well.

The one last week is worth catching up with on i-player.
  6. Ive lost my way to the MV parts section for evil bay, can someone point me in the right direction please.
  7. Getting Mrs W a gnome on a swing for the garden, her choice, and an electronic ignition kit for the Ferret. If she has no use for it I do. So probably spending xmas in A&E.
  8. £100 from Footman James, transferred from Champ to Ferret. Fully comp. No breakdown cover though.
  9. It seems like I may have got a speck of dirt or something in the contacts. After taking the cap off, in the daylight this time, and resetting the points it fired up. Thanks Mike, I look forward to getting them.
  10. Thanks Mike. Drove it back from work to home, a hairy journey to say the least!Sussed out the carb, I'll be investing in a new choke and starter cable after xmas, unless Santa brings me one! Along with an electronic ignition kit. Hopefully that should sort out my misfire. Took the tueet of with the aid of a forklift to get it into the garage at home. Has the good tyre on the side got a puncture ? Just wondered why the u/s tyre was on it? I like it, I have armour. An ambition done!
  11. I'm not volunteering to pick some up from Inverness for the record!
  12. The engine turns over on the battery but doesn't try to fire up. I didnt remove the contacts, gave them a squirt of contact cleaner and passed some fine wet and dry between them once.
  13. Took off dizzy cap, to check points, rotor etc. A bit carboned up so cleaned with a bit of contact cleaner, Replaced cap and now no spark. Engine cranks but doent even try to turn over, no spark at plugs. I didnt take off leads or remove rotor. Could it be one of the leads broken internally?
  14. So carb starter cotrol is at bottom of panel, thanks for that. But I do have a choke on left hand wall under the ob flap.
  15. Thanks all. Ive been looking for the hand throttle, but cant seem to locate it.
  16. I thought it would be the fuel cut off. The guage reads 1/2 although looking onto the tanks it seems quite full. So it cuts in the reserve tank? Is there any way of finding out? How do you know on yours? Battery cut off switch seems a good idea, although if left standing for the winter the batteries will go flat. Inter start slave socket, where will I find that? I think Mike fitted a new carb on it, though thats not to say the rubber on the diaphragms wont be perished, will check them. Thanks
  17. Thanks for that, suspect a shopping trip from Mr Jolley.
  18. After having the Ferret for a few days the first of many questions. May seem bleedin' obvious to some but I have to ask. When starting up, obviously it needs to warm up. How long does it need to warm up for? Do you need to apply the choke to raise the revs, from what I agther the manual says not to use choke/ engine speed from start up. I have let the engine tick over for about 5 minutes, but even then, its very spluttery. If you are leaving it unmoved for the winter period how do you keep the batteries charged up? Do you take them out? Or do you have an ingenious way of charging them and keeping them topped up in the vehicle? There is a brass looking tap at the rear of the compartment. Is that fuel/oil shut off?
  19. A big thanks to Mike the Bike for a very trustworthy purchase on his Ferret. The engine sounds superb, I love it! Just nee to figure out how to take the turret off to go in my garage. A big thanks to PaulOb1 for transporting it up here, loved the transport truck, how many toys can one man have? Many questions to follow Im sure. Public thanks guys.
  20. I think the enemy would run past it laughing at them trying to dig the hole. Assuming there was no enemy air cover of course!
  21. Article about the Predictor in the latest issue of Windscreen.
