yeah very true, i had a Z750 LTD, did some cracking power wheelies two up :cool2:, then sold it for Harley 1200 sportster, not in the same league, but it sounded great with straight through pipes..........then sold that for a tractor :n00b:..........:n00b:..........:n00b:
surely a tractor is only a four wheeled harley

I just read this thread and must applaud your efforts and am glad to see that for once a local council has got some common sense ,most would just quote health and safety at you and say access is not possible let alone consider allowing removal and preservation, good luck with your project

what they need to do is apply for a temporary licence which will then allow them time to contact an RFD and organise the deactivation

there is a thread about colouring canvas on the ww2 reenactors forum and it seems people have been succesful colouring faded tents by using fence coating paint as sold by B£Q etc

sadly thee cunning fakers have now spread across all aspects of the hobby, you used to be quite safe collecting British ww2 gear but due to scarcity much of this is now being copied and sold as original ,para gear is a good example it is getting quite hard to find dispatch riders helmets now as so many have been converted to para helmets

I think the simple answer in most cases is supply and demand,if a wealthy collector sets his heart on something he will pay almost anything for it ,at least they can do it legally and show their possensions to interested parties what about the trade in stolen art treasures that has gone on for years ,there is always someone willing to buy but then they must keep their aquisitions secret

I wouldn't mind a garden big enough to fit a bunker...
you would only fill it up with M1 helmets
-
if you do go down the deac route you could do worse than using Ryton arms ,they did a webley 455 for me a couple of years ago and it was £75 including the charge from the proof house which was over £100 ponds cheaper than a local gunsmith wanted

No - couldn't afford to buy the Jeep then - not much change there thinking about it - but I do remember the adverts :-D
never mind the jeeps ,what about all the grizlys that came in at £10.000 each, now that would have been better than cash in the bank
-
I may have to undercut you on that,I only want £549.99 for mine
