  1. Implying what, exactly??? No, I was sachéd in with chest pains. It wasn't the heart - I haven't got one. Stress is the killer; but it ain't my time just yet.
  2. No Steve - the file sizes are all perfect and I always add some sort of text. For some reason I kept getting a note from BT telling me the page was unavailable/not connected/boring/ugly etc and I got bored. I've not had problems before - the problem just adds to the joys of an unpleasant 48hrs. M
  3. Following a less than glorious evening in the emergency room of Southend Hospital, I am now "Off the beer" for a bit. I would like to emphasise that I was sober when I arrived, not having had a sip of Alfa since the glorious night in the Bolero beer tent where I introduced a collie dog into an already messy bunch of stories from the murky world I work in. Bad form. When I'm back on the road, I'll be over to look in the fridge. Meantime it's tea all the way for me.
  4. I'll give up tonight. Sorry.
  5. Will keep trying again, but there is something wrong. The pix won't upload. I'm not doing anything different. Any ideas Joris???
  6. Getting fed up now....trying another load
  7. it doesn't want to work - trying again...
  8. Sorry for the delay in putting some snaps up. I've had a few distractions.... I'm slowly sorting my mass of pix out. I can see I am no way near as tidy as Steve or as arty as Zoomer Phil; but I hope you like this lot. There will be more... The first batch are from Friday. MB
  9. Course...I remember..! the flipping car started after Jack put his healing hands on it. Nothing short of scary.
  10. Well done, Bridie, you have performed a public service... Self inflicted wounds don't deserve any sympathy.
  11. Cor! I am overwhelmed. To be honest, when I joined the forum ahead of Beltring '06, I never imagined how special the forum would become to me. Meeting so many new friends at Bolero was fantastic. Even Jack was bearable - but all that Man's Truck stuff became a bit tiresome when I discovered I'd run out of Solpadene. Only kidding Jack...but you knew that, didn't you. I hope we get many more posters past the one thousand mark in due course. I'll save some custard creams for you...but keep your hands off the angel cake. MB
  12. Yep. Agreed. All I've seen since is car accidents in the wet - people not paying attention or adjusting for the conditions. I don't think it is correct to say we got away with it because we did not take part in the Muppet Show - but it could have been a lot less fun than it was. What we need next time is one of those big Brockway 666 pontoon trucks.
  13. My egg and bacon roll was lovely. But I was thirty seven when I started queueing and now I am 48. It's the IQ level, not the age; you understand. Those blokes operated a classic "how not to" system. "There's a difference at McDonalds", they used to tell us. I think I know what it is.
  14. Nice to see you've recovered Paul. Plenty of coffee, I assume. Give Clive my best and please tell him I may need to speak to him to get some event details correct. I may bend your ear as well. Hope you don't mind. You seem to know stuff. Keep smiling, Mark
  15. I'll to give this game up and find something else to do. Thank heavens for the office furniture gigs. Roll on East Croydon on Thursday....I live a cutting edge life style mateys.... Steve, thanks for making all these notes which I will plagiarise with abandon - but with my smarmy norf London whit/Estuary English verbosity added. The cheque will be in the post.... M
  16. Top quality items. Who's the uglyukpher wearing HMVF clothing at the bottom of the set???
  17. This is bloody bonkers. I hope the Cushionmobile is ok. Total bummer...
  18. Rats - I think yours is a different model - the headlights are not the same...but the cab looks identical otherwise...
  19. I I have some snaps dating from the IMPS London-Brighton MV run in 1999. If you go to http://www.thelondontobrighton.co.uk and then dig out the section called Mark Barnes pix - you will see a selection in there. If they're any use and you want them in another format, let me know and I will attempt to copy the disk (I am having nightmares with my older archives stored on old slow cds). I hope it is the correct lorry - a lovely motor. This isn't a proper link to the site - but it definitely works. You have the mighty Jim Fleet to thank for it. MB
