Merely in jest
My mate had a lightweight who used to constantly berate what he called 'Yank rubbish'
till my merciless p1ss taking resulted in him selling it & buying a dodge
Oh I see Mr Beckett like that is it... pick on your staff
Now... what compromising situations can i photoshop you into?
(that you haven't been in already)
Hey if you had photoshop, you could do it too *ahem* :computerterror:
Far right, uppermost vehicle coming down the track... surely a wc52?
You can see the spare, winch, bumperettes, & the reflector/tie hook recess above & behind the rear wheelarch & the front wings are very 3/4 ton :dunno:
It looks the dogs danglies
J & J have played a blinder
Good work fellas ;-)
Is it formal dress for the launch party :dunno:
I've got a lovely formal dress in coral Pink :-D
Nice one Jack,
My old man owns about 15-20 acres of wild woodland
in the Lake District lovely and peaceful
(but utterly overrun with psychotic f**kin' midges
that make it completely impossible to be outside after about 3pm
without slapping yourself into a coma or getting bitten to bits).
Mind you its funny explaining to the fishermen who ask if they can
oik trout out of the old mans river that the midges are really really bad
"Oh don't you worry 'bout me. I can cope with midges no problem"
15 mins later they're flailing about running for the car :-D
Far as i can tell
C47 X1
JEEPS X 10
JIMMYS X 4
DODGE VC X 2
DODGE WC52 X 1
BULLDOZER X 1
BOWSER TRAILER X1
BEN HUR TRAILER X1
quite a collection!
Looks like a dispersal point for wounded
(going by the number of jeeps with stretcher frames)
Pacific somewhere I'da thought (judging by the VC's)
It's not the long bolt that the wingnut sits on (the one that holds the air cleaner in place) is it? probably not same carb as the dodge... just a thought
When speeding up/changing down... 2/3/4 etc
let the revs drop right off before commencing
Michael Flatleys 'Feet of Crash Box Flames' D-Dclutch dance
or
When slowing/changing up... 4/3/2 etc
into neutral, clutch up,
rev the motor to the the appropriate revs
as though you were already in the gear your going into
EG slowing to a juntion...
in top doing 30mph...
Neutral
clutch out &
rev the motor to the approximate revs it would be doing
if you were already in 3rd doing 30
clutch in
shift to 3rd
clutch out
If you know what i mean :dunno:
CCCCCCCCCCCRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNCCCCCCCCHHHHHH
I'm pretty much crunch free now but the one that always caught me out was changing up from 4th to 3rd when slowing down or under load goin' up hill
(lots of them in the Lake district!)
...blip the revs but its a bit of a bugger to get right... like hitting a moving target
I can do 3rd to 2nd peice of p1ss & even 2nd down to 1st
But when i do get it right & it goes in silently (relatively)
& I find myself glancing down at the gearstick
worried that the shifter linkage had dropped to bits :-D
