  1. hi colin i fancy having a bash at a gas firing besa. put me down for one. cheers
  2. the where is sorted it's the when that needs a bit of thought !
  3. i was due to take part in this series but they asked me too late and we just couldn't get anything in place before the filming started, however on a plus note i have 4 tanks to dig up when i get the time
  4. there will be turrets being made soon for cromwell if you are interested in a repro
  5. thanks chris. op grapple brings back a few memories
  6. i was in bosnia with the duke of boots in 94. we had saxons based on bedford tm's, while in theatre they were retrofitted with the peak gpmg turret. bloody useless offroad but i still have a soft spot for them. i keep an eye out for my old saxon 98KF95 but not seen it yet. if i remember right there were a few saxons on RAF Tain bombing range
  7. my mate has come back to me with a price for the cvrt parts. he wants £1k for each final drive and £1750 for a gearbox with clutch
  8. A mate of mine has the cvrt parts. I'll get a price off him. The guy in Poland is asking £25 each for the 60 links
  9. petrol cvrt engines and gearboxes should be cheap as everyone seems to want the diesel variant. the final drives however might be a problem. i'll ask around for you. a friend in poland has found 60 links of what he was told was panzer 1 track. is it any use
  10. sorry to hear all has not gone well. i think it's known as mission creep when one job leads to another. good luck with it. i know of two m120 owners that might be persuaded to part with them if you decide life is too short
  11. they do turn up on ebay occasionally
  12. Nothing new to report, the restoration is on hold until I get the time to do it. Although I am still acquiring the odd part and the engine is still with the specialist in leeds but like me he is busy until autumn. I got some spare parts from new Zealand a while ago and will put up some pics once I go through them
  13. no plans yet, i was hoping to do a dig with the history channel but they didn't fancy trying to get permission to put a hole in lincolnshires flood defences
  14. we haven't done any work on the tank for quite a while but this doesn't mean we have been idle. the engine was removed and has been with the engine specialist for assessment as to whether it would be viable to restore it to running condition and it looks like we got lucky, although it will require a rebore and new rings we should be able to use the original pistons. the bottom end hasn't been checked over yet but visually it too looked to be very good. we're a long way off from running it but things are looking good so far
  15. i have to agree with you there, just got to get the buggar working
  16. i'll be interested to see how you get on with the wheels, polyurethane rubber is something i've considered doing on tank wheels. hope it goes well
  17. thanks bob. i now have 4 centurions so i've a feeling i'll be needing it
  18. i'll have it bob if it's not already sold. cheers
  19. Funnily enough that was the only piece missing ;)
