On the event weekend, there were around 30 vehicles turned up from all eras, with the majority attending both days of the show. Those who came on Saturday got the best of the weather. The aircraft museum volunteers had moved several exhibits around for the weekend allowing the Falklands War Pucara ground attack aircraft and newly restored Bofors gun to be displayed outside.
A couple of our local re-enactors were manning the Bofors when the Police Helicopter flew over and claimed to have shot it down! In addition to the many WW2 vehicles and re-enactors, there were several from the Post War period, and travelling back in time further than we usually see, a group of American Civil War Re-enactors.
Preparations at NEAM began weeks before the event with general tidying of the site and final touches to exhibits. A week before the event, several MVT(NE) members brought vehicles to the museum for a press day. In the end, only the Sunderland Echo turned up, which resulted in a large article in the paper published on Friday 7th.
I use a Nikon D50 Digi SLR with a 18-55mm & 70-300mm lenses. It's about 6.something MP giving a max picture size of 3008x2000 pixels. I also have a x2 converter for airshow pics turning my 70-300 to a 140-600mm. You don't really need a large flash gun for museums, just a tripod. With the tripod, you can have a longer more steady exposure with natural lighting and no harsh shadows that flash guns create.
I'm sure you seen plenty of my pics around the site, I'm pretty happy with them. Dust can be a problem, but there are plenty of lens and sensor cleaning kits available to keep you dust free. Even a brand new camera will have some dust 'built into it' during manufacture. You can never escape it completely, no matter what camera you have!

Several of us have been testing this for a while now, but now that it is fully live, how long will it take for videos to be 'approved'. Is it a manual process by moderators??

When rain water gathered on top of the rear canvas moves forward and soaks the driver when he stops quick!
Something you don't suffer with a Jeep!

Bump! Oooo, how shameless of me!
Anyone in the NE or even North West, come and see us for the day/weekend. You could even dump the Mrs off at the Metro Centre for some retail therapy for the day??
Pictures from last year can be found here - Jeeps & Jets
