    'C' MV

Well, I like WW1 stuff, so a vehicle article is wellcome! I don't know the magazine so enjoy the restoration articles and photo's on this forum about those WW1 trucks. Thanks.
  2. I am not a football fan, but Holland will win the next game (I hope). Madman, succes with the change.
  3. Hi Jack Know what you mean! One of my first parades was 18 sept 1999 in Eindhoven. Nice, driving the WC 52, brother and a mate on the hood, good weather, lots of people - enjoyable. :? Then we entered the Townhall square and there were veterans applauding us!! . What did we do to deserve that! It brought tears to my eyes! Our friend isn't really into WW2 and he said he was emotional seeing that, we should applaude them!! The years after that we also attanded with 1 difference; my brother drives the Dodge and I ride my BSA folding bike from the Belgian border to Eindhoven, still get applauded because with all those vehicles the odd 1 or 2 bicycle drivers get noticed.
  4. Hi Jack As far as I know GMC's and Dodges had 1 out of 4 vehicles equiped with a winch. The same with a MG mount for the GMC. I think they thought not every vehicle needed one (costs?) since they don't drive alone and can help each other?

    Beltring

Well, why not. How about printing the logo on top of this forum? Offcourse if we get permission!!
  6. We plan to arrive mondayevening, so a few days before the show starts. Hopefully we'll have some space in the America field because we want to keep some space for our UK friends we meet every year.
  7. As far as I know it is a unpowered trailer for behind a french Bren carrier type of vehicle. Here is a link to the carrier itself, no trailer behind this one. http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/france/Fre-LatilUE.JPG And one with a trailer but without the tracks. http://www.wwiivehicles.com/france/carriers/carriers.html
  8. Hi Guys and Girls. Thought I'd make a new topic about the show. Who's going with which vehicle? I'll be going with my brother in a White Renault Express delivery car marked as a UN vehicle. It's a cheap option instead of driving the Dodge or Jeep from the river Maas to Dunkirk, take the ferry and then to beltring. We did go with the Jeep once, also the WC 52 and after selling it for we also went with the WC 21.
  9. Hmmm, oil on starter, that may be a good point, it is oily I think. In this case I am lucky because I am a skinny guy! To Chris I always depress the clutch, kinda double safe even when I am in neutral. Guess I'll have to do some checking. Thanks.
  10. If I see a MV which isn't correct I don't nag the owner. I might ask him "why", and mostly there is a logical answer. My WC 21 has 2 different wings, both WW2 and 1/2 ton Dodge but 1 not original from the factory. Original as in WW2, YES. Original as from the factory, NO.

    Ok, lets go.

Nothing on Dutch television that I saw either. Still lots of people who remember outside the limelights of TV and such. D-Day meant that German's defeate was all but ensured.
  12. Well done. Brings back memories of my restoration outside (no garage). Keep up the good work

    D-Day

Steve, I like the photo taken in the mirror!! I also drove to work today, only 3/4 of a mile... I was free at 15:30 so I also drove around my hometown for a short while. Jack, very nice suggestion to take the MV 's to work!! We will remember!

    D-Day

Maybe I will. Depends on the weather (stored onder a tarp) and if it will start easy (seethe, startproblem 6 volt thread)
  15. My brother and me will go to Beltring again this year, our 7th time. We normally try to get a spot in the America's field on the right side of the road in the middle. We meet up with British friends there, we like to visit the UK! Maybe I'll see some of you there.
  16. Thanks! I know a few WW2 veterans from the 53rd Welsh division who fought nearby my hometown.
  17. My WC 21 has a 6 volt system. The problem is it turns over sloooowly when starting, 1 rev. per push on the starter. Sometimes a few revs and that's it. If possible I use someone to press the starter (my 6 years old nephew or brother) and apply I the handcrank which works. On my own the handcrank is to heavy (compression) to get a few revs after each other. My battery is 120 AH. Could the problem be the battery or maybe somewhere a electrical resistance? I haven't got a clue about electricity ( today I got zapped by 220 volt when connecting a wire from a lightbulb...). Any ideas, advise or such? I am thinking about installing 12 volt but don't know what to replace and it will probably cost a fortune which isn't a real option sinse I am unemployed. Thanks!!
  18. If there is a accessplate its OK. My Dodge didn't have it and I removed several planks to get to the tank and to take out and cut a hole to make a plate. Swine of a job because there wasn't much room to unscrew the bolts. Succes
  19. Did Patton put his boot up the A** es of the soldiers who didn't look correct?
  20. Maybe the "vlotter" gets stuck in the tank.
  21. The @#$#$#%, take them to court and sue the hell out of them.
