Visited local DVLA office today to try and get my Diamond T 981, re registed as historic vehicle with age related number plate.Once a Q plate always a Q plate was my reply. Even after use of MVT verification service DVLA would not accept my application. Any one had same experiance?
TM 9-2800(STANDARD MILITARY MOTOR VEHICLES) page 430,Trailer ,full,flatbed, 20 ton.As manufactured by
La Crosse Trailer and Equipment Co;Rogers Bros.Co.
This looks to be almost identical to the JAHN trailer . The Rogers is known as Model H-20-L-S-14
Two Rolls Royce DerwentMk 1 jet engines mounted on a conflat wagon were used on the Buxton to Ashbourne railway to clear heavy falls of snow in and around briggs sidings.
How rare is this combination?
On trade plates
Is it a cranes trailor or one made by elliot and garood of beccles?
Looks like the sheet has been shrink wrapped on it's that neat.
For all explorer owners you just got to see this,35bc46 at work.Search for(Bowmore Boiler Film part 1 - 5.)Apologies if this has been mentioned before ,i have not seen any reference to it on hmvf. Stay with it and enjoy .I did.
The ex cadzow t has a leyland 680 power plus lump coupled to a leyland 5 speed box linked to the original 3 speed transfer case.Other owners have been Motherwell Bridge recovery ,R G Hamilton, Massey bros of Longcliffe Derbys and John Byard a gentleman who had always wanted to own a t.I had the pleasure of towing the t behind my mack nm8 from longcliffe to a farm near the tramway museum at Crich, 38 miles 42 gallons but the mack was in low range most of the way.But huge fun.A few months after John realised that the preservation of such a large vehicle was beyond his capabilities and presented it to me v5 and all.I will post relevant photos later if anyone would like to see them.
