  1. The Gama Goat was a six-wheel-drive semi-amphibious off road vehicleoriginally developed for use by the US Military in the Vietnam War. The 'Goat used an articulated chassis, so that from distance it appears to be a four-wheel drive vehicle pulling a two-wheel trailer, but it is a single six-wheel vehicle with a four wheel steering arrangement with the front and rear wheels turning in opposite directions. It was famous for its ability to travel over exceptionally rough and muddy terrain. The vehicle's nickname came from two sources; "Gama" from the name of the inventor of its powered articulated joint, Roger Gamount, and "Goat" for its mountain goat-like off-road ability. Its military designation was M561, 6×6 tactical 1-1/4-ton truck. Something went wrong...

  4. CVRT Sabre TN15 Gearbox Noise. Your views on whether the rasping / grating noise is anything to worry about would be much appreciated. It appears to be coming from the centrifugal clutch area.... as soon as the clutch engages it disappears. The gearbox works fine all gears work as they should. This gearbox was supplied as "having a noise" so I decided to fit it to try and diagnose the fault. I have a good gearbox which will be fitted if necessary. Note: I do have another radiator with a new core to replace the existing one !! " width="644" height="390">">Something went wrong... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9lLR1P0CrY

  6. Hi... Yes.. There is a substantial cooling fan attached to the drive end (this was used as a tank engine) The fan is almost the same diameter as the engine and acts as a flywheel.

The M29 Weasel was a World War II tracked vehicle, built by Studebaker, designed for operation in snow. The idea for the Weasel came from the work of British inventor Geoffrey Pyke in support of his proposals to attack Axis forces and industrial installations in Norway. Pyke's plan to hamper the German atomic weapons development became Project Plough for which he proposed a fast light mechanised device that would transport small groups of commando troops of the 1st Special Service Force across snow. In active service in Europe, Weasels were used to supply frontline troops over difficult ground when wheeled vehicles were immobilised. The first 2,103 vehicles had 15 in (380 mm) tracks, a later version had 20 in (510 mm) tracks. The M29 was amphibious, but with a very low freeboard;[2] the M29C Water Weasel was the amphibious version, with buoyancy cells in the bow and stern as well as twin rudders. Something went wrong...
