  1. Trevor, the first tap was to big, so john kindly sent another one which was bigger, that's to big now!, the rad needs resoldering we're the bottom hose connects so once it's out I'll have a better look and see.

    bill.

Give me a shout if you need a hand with the soldering Bill..

  2. The BT Home hub has a "back door" that gives wifi access to anybody with a BT broadband account. That is how they get good coverage with openzone hotspots.

    Mike

Just spoke to my BT mate & apparently not.. The Fon side of things uses a separate channel to your home wifi people connecting to your fon spot can not access any of your private data.

  3. I'm Rural .I was on std broadband went Sky Fibre because they said how good it was , the way to go etc etc , waste of money , in fact I would say it freezes more than it did before  , very disappointing wouldn't recommend it to anyone .

My mate who is a BT Engineer explained exactly that.. He said if the cabinet is some distance to a property you could end up with slower speeds than with standard broadband.. Also the distance between exchange & cabinet affects speed.. so a combination of a long distance from exchange to cabinet & cabinet to property could be disastrous speed wise..

Don't forget BT (& others) give you maximum estimated speeds, they do not guarantee these.

Don't forget a lot of other companies still use BT lines..

  4. Ah thats usefull info Lee , what does the engineer have to do when they install it at your house then mate ?

They ust change the master box on the wall, most of the work is at the Cabinet.. that's if you are in an area with cable to cabinet.. I'm in a semi rural area an we are not getting fibre here for another year.. A few weeks ago they did upgrade our exchange to 21st century which meant they double our speed from 8mb to 16mb.. which is plenty & steams TV fine.

  5. Sorry to be a pain here but my pal still hasn't been sorted with a reset password , could you help again if you have sent it by perhaps resending the email or contact me in case there is an issue with his email , alan.eland@btconnect.com thanks a lot, it's just he is due to contact another member who has been away.

    Hi

I have resent a Password reminder again to tony_cosgrove@msn.com I can't change his password unless the member contacts me directly at lee@hmvf.co.uk

    Cheers Lee

  6. With the greatest of respect Lee, you have missed the point, Diana was helping us as owners with her experiences with this broker!

With the greatest of respect Lindsay, the title mentioned the MVT & it looks like to me questioning of the MVTs advertising policies?? If so should be directed to the MVT. My opinion not HMVF's

Any way I recommend FMJ 's

  7. The Warhorse tank looks full scale when I saw it. I know it cost a lot to purchase so understandable that it would be guarded, it looks so original when stood by it that the layman might not know. There is a not-to-scale one around, think it was at the last Beltring.

Ah that could be it then... the Not to scale Replica there was the Plywood one.. is the Warhorse Tank of all metal construction? It was some of the production crew who first said that one of the tanks was an original, this was also told to the Bunker staff stating that is why it had o have it's own guard..

  8. Same type, but much larger?

    .

I believe the War Horse Tank is not full scale?? I can't get any photos to post up due to contractual obligations.

As said there was Two Tanks there for the filming at the same time, the Replica & the other one which was Guarded due to it's value & I have been informed by is an Original WW1 Tank.

  9. The Warhorse replica was being unloaded from a low loader when I was at the TM on 5/2/14 so I assume it was just being returned from the Essex film gig.

I have just returned from the Secret Nuclear Bunker in Essex where the filming took place. It has been confirmed that there was definitely two WW1 Tanks there. The replica & the other one which was much larger than the replica but the same type of tank. The "Original Tank" had a 24 hour security guard with it due to it's value, none of the other kit was guarded. If it wasn't the Tank museums WW1 Tank where did it come from??

  10. I'm in the process of of restoring a 1929 Rover Light Six Sportsman's Saloon. Can anyone recommend a company in the UK that manufactures custom Head Gaskets? I have contacted a few companies but they only make gaskets from solid materials & said they can not make a gasket in a soft material which I need for this head.
