Has anybody ever fallen for these scams? I would think that most people would be smart enough not to part with their money for the tenuous possibility of receiving some bargain goods. But I suppose that is E bay all around.

Yes at least one member has.. Not sure if it was eBay but he lost a few grand...

Does the system have a provision for automatically notifying the poster that it is about to expire and should be reposted if required?

I probably know as much as you about the new classified software as discussed in the office..

I've not posted any adverts or wanteds, but have just checked out the board and cannot see an obvious note that adverts will automatically be deleted.

 

If users were to be better informed it might save issues like this arising?

Tony I think it says when placing adverts they are valid for 30 days..

With the new classified software all adverts sales & wants expire after 30 days and are automatically close and are then moved to old classifieds.

Well if we have to have this, could it just be confined to people close to the MV hobby or who have made a contribution to the defence of this country?

 

I could see it getting clogged up with, no doubt worthy people, but who are in the public eye that have no relevance to our hobby be they broadcasters, politicians, actors, sports 'personalities' & vague 'celebrities', they will receive enough coverage in the normal range of media.

This is under discussion with the HMVF Team & we will report back shortly.
